Will people flock to G+ because of Timeline? (10 posts)

  • Now that timeline is applicable to personal and business pages will Google+ see a surge of traffic due to those who want to differentiate themselves and their businesses? Thoughts?

  • I don’t think so. Businesses that have pages on Facebook will have by now a user community that they won’t (well, shoudln’t) abandon. Plus, businesses concerned about SEO and search engine rankings will have built their G+ pbusiness profile already and will have their user community there as well. So I guess it’s very unlikely that we’ll see a mass migration to Google+

  • @ryrussell I agree with  @alexandrevicente  – but I certainly have been looking at Google+ more now.

  • @devanianjali @alexandrevicente Absolutely, 100%. I just wonder if businesses are going to promote G+ more now.

  • @ryrussell you might want to check this out :)  http://mashable.com/2012/02/21/google-plus-1-seo/

  • @ryrussell  SORRY wrong link:

  • i would  go there if   my  fans  went there….which i  really doubt they will do….they are already used to the timeline

  • Flocking to Google+ should not be motivated by what Facebook does or doesn’t do. It’s an entirely different platform.  @alexandrevicente Is correct to say that business should “have their user community there as well”

That’s why I want to encourage  @annfurnivall  and others to rethink your motivation for engaging G+. It is wrong to say if my community follows me. In fact my experience is that most of them will NOT follow you. But there is a new community waiting at G+ to welcome you with open arms. Think of it as two separate communities both being funneled into your inbound.

  • What’s to run away from in Timeline? I am not understanding the negative.

  • i never hear a word about   google + in my  real life  community, my  brick and mortar  business, .and i  hear about   facebook  every  day..so i  have to assume  that   others in my  target   market  . who  would  be   like my  current  customers also  arent on  google +… i  am  face to face  with my  community   and they just arent on  google+ …. i would  know…..thats why i  dont  bother with it,….. ..  @jasonwiser i dont  see much evidence that its  catching on at all..but i will  try it  when i  need  to..
