Why can’t I see other feeds or like from my new page with the new timeline (8 posts)

  • AAAARGGHHH?

I have just converted my entire personal page (with 5000 friends and 1500 subscribers) to a fan page.

I also merged the other fan page I already had so that I now only have one, streamlined, fan page and everything has been consolidated.

When I changed over to the new page it came with the new timeline which, I am unfamiliar with.

I can’t even find where to see all of my (6000) likes.friends feeds, and or, like anyone;s pages. There is no feed bar or search panel or anything.

When i browse to another page and try and like it, it says “you cannot connect with this page”?? What the?

    What is going onnnn! Arrrgh.

  • It’s ok it’s working now…shish

  • But how did you get your pages to merge?  I want to do that, but can’t find where I should go and what I should do.  Please help!

If you have two pages with similar names that you would like to merge into one – you go to:

    edit page
    resources
    merge multiple pages

    And voila.

Note: the ‘merge’ option will only be available if you have two pages with similar names, and you should merge from the page with the most likes or the one you want to keep most. The merge is irreversible apparently.

    Make sense?

  • I also noticed that it takes a little while to refresh all of your likes and brig you back to your fully active page where feeds are available etc.

So don’t worry if you can’t access them for a little bit. it is probably still processing

  • All this doesn’t make as much sense as I would hope mainly because your manifestly clear instructions -
    edit page
    resources
    merge multiple pages

    - are not visible to me anywhere on my page!

  • I don’t think all that I wrote got through.  I mean to continue by saying that all I get is General Account Settings.  But that’s perhaps because I updated my timeline.  On the other “me” page I can’t get even that!  I would want to, because I would change the name so that it’s exactly “me” – but then again there are other people in the country with my name (and he refuses to entertain the very real probability that we’re related – silly person!).  So, try again!

  • I didn’t just have two pages – I had two accounts!  who knew – the “help” line is so damned confusing.  I still don’t know what a Page is and how it differs from an “account.”
