  • You’ve just created a smashing Facebook page. You love your cover image, added some interesting topics and logo profile looks outstanding and your opt in page is ready to go…. yet…. chirp chirp chirp. All you can hear are the crickets on the deafening silence of your page.

  • @relevant Hi Rudy

This affects everyone. I wrote a blog post how how to get started with Facebook, but to summarize…

    Get Networking

    Get searching for like-minded people

Start posting content, even though no one is there to read it

Tell the friends and workmates who you think would be interested

Start a small advertising campaign (even $20 a week would do)

Give people a reason to Like your page – fantastic content!

Remember that growing a Facebook Page is a marathon.

    Cheers!
    Russell

  • Hey Russell,
Thanks. I’m just learning about Facebook networking. Your tips are well received.

  • That is a lot of topics.  Surely  it is not in one blog post.I would post a question on a one of those specific topics to seek input. Get a dialog going.

  • @relevant  Russell is right on! And if you’re still not getting likes after following his advice – you might look at where your target audience is spending their time. Is it on Facebook or another type of social media.

  • @relevant When I start with an existing fan page the first thing I tell the client they need to do is ‘invite’ their own Facebook friends. Then send out an email blast to everyone in their personal and professional contact list just asking for a quick like with a giant Facebook link. If they have the money we will start an ads campaign to jump start the page for the first month or two. Hope this helps!

  • First of all, link to your page from all of your marketing materials – your email signature, your website, your brochures, your business cards, etc. etc.

Next, think about honing your message a bit. I posted a response to your previous post asking about your page design. “Build it and they will come” doesn’t apply anymore. You’ll have to get inside the heads of your ideal customer and give them good reason to like your page.
