Where is your facebook page? I’ll show you mine if you show me yours. (5 posts)

  • My company has been building through our “warm market” and I’ve recently convinced my partners of the viral possibilities of maintaining a facebook presence.

The problem is that my IT guy isn’t quite up-to-date on facebook and isn’t sure where to start.

    Our page is: https://www.facebook.com/healthcareoncall

I’d appreciate it if some of you could share your facebook links so that we can get a better idea of what other “small business” owners are doing with their pages.

  • My Facebook Page is http://www.facebook.com/jfriesler.  I give authors short tips on my wall.  I promote my clients and their books on my wall.  I also promote other information and activities that I  find helpful to all authors.  I have my blog on one of my tabs, and a welcome page with a video and an opt in form.

  • @warrenveach – I took a quick look at your Facebook page.  In addition to looking at other pages of people in the club, I would do some searching within FB to see what others in your industry are doing.  (search telehealth in FB and click on “pages” for examples)

A couple of recommendations for your page… I would definitely put up a custom banner on the left side that has your logo, phone number, etc.  I would also consider a custom landing/welcome page for your site.  People need to know what your company does instantly, and you can do that visually with a welcome page.

You can take a look at my page if you want, but I am a virtual assistant – so not exactly the same industry.  But at least you can see examples of the custom banner and welcome page.  http://www.facebook.com/TodaysVirtualEdgeVA

My previous career background is healthcare (both administrative and clinical) so if there is anything else I can help with, let me know.

  • @janisfriesler

Janis…Thanks for the reply. i like the idea of having the introductory video on the welcome page. Very nice!

Question: How did you get the blog page to appear inside the “Fan Page”?

    That is sweet!

    @lisaschulteis

    Lisa….Thanks for your comments also.

I’ve started searching out the competition (that’s what started all this to begin with).

I definitely need to change the left banner, and will make that the first change, followed quickly by a welcome page for people to land on.

P.S. I’m “liking” both of you lady’s pages. Thanks for your thoughts!

  • I actually used a company called IFan.  Their site is on Facebook.  They are very good because I wanted the blog page to look like my blog http://www.assistingauthors.com.   They did a great job, but little did I know that my partner (my former student) figured out how to do the same thing.  He is now doing similar things for our clients.

What we are doing now is having a welcome page for clients and a reveal page for book tours and contests.  I think it looks really cool.  Check out http://www.facebook.com/ourmothersrecipes and http://www.facebook.com/http://www.facebook.com/pages/AscensionForYou-Spiritual-Guidance-and-Education/147338671945241  and let me know what you think.
