@dennischica @yvetteleectsm @alexandrabriggs- I’m teaching a workshop on this very topic next week! The first thing I do is explain (and it usually takes a while for people to catch on) the difference between a personal profile and a page — which, as you likely know, Facebook calls an “Official Page.”
But “Official Page” sounds stuffy; most of us refer to Pages as “fan page, “business page,” or just plain “page.” But I’ve discovered that when I call it a “page,” people get confused and think I’m talking about their personal profile, because most people call their personal profile a “page.”
So… in print I always refer to it as a fan/business page. Again, those of us who have used Facebook for a while got used to pages being called “fan pages” in the early days. Our brains default to thinking of them as “fan pages” even though you won’t see the word “fan” on them anymore.
It’s all so confusing.
