What would you do with this fanpage to attract more fans? (14 posts)

  • Can you expert to give me your opinion on what I should do with my fanpage? What would you add? Just be honest please….I want to fanpage rock because goal is to end the trend of Diabetes, Thank you https://www.facebook.com/pages/edit/?id=195976563812887&sk=admin#!/pages/Diabetes-Rescue-911/195976563812887

  • Well first of all the website only has a tiny link to the facebook page hidden at the bottom. Try putting a facebook box or like button on the page.Add the link to emails.Talk to similar pages on facebook and see if you can like each others pages with the page they will then show on the left of the page and you can easily exchange some users.

    Good luck :)

  • Ian you’re ” cooler than the other side of the pillow”! Thanks I will try that tonight.

  • What is the deal with the formatting of these posts? Everything just ends up squished together :( lol

  • @scottieschufford-anderson Ohh and thanks :P lol

  • @Ian Pace thank you sir!

  • I agree with @pacey. Also have you tried ads? They could be very helpful here. Another thought I would try to limit the number of posts you send from Twitter, manually entering them is better. I am going to send you a message about another thought. good luck!

  • @Lee Genung No I haven’t tried ads just yet but it’s on my list. Thanks for the AWESOME feedback.

    1. Start talking about real stories. Real people. Real solutions.

    2. Have your landing page the first page people land on when they arrive at your site. YOu can set this up under page admins. Try ShortStack for additional free pages.

    3. Get a plan about how you want to approach your social media efforts (here is an article I wrote yesterday on creating your social media plan)

    4. Lose the page-tabs (like Flickr) that are not set up.

    That’s first impressions. :)

    Hope that helps!

  • good comments here already -
i see “diabetes 911″ but i’m not sure what your “hook” is. to that end, i’d utilize the full amount of space allotted for your profile image – on a fan page you can upload an image that’s 540 x 180 pixels which means lots of extra room to put a tagline that succinctly sums up the goal of your page so visitors know immediately how this page is going to help them.

to @russell allert’s point, perhaps it is all about inviting “real people” post about their personal “real solutions” to dealing with diabetes. if you clearly ask people to contribute to posts, that may help. also, you can always peruse other pages on diabetes and make thoughtful posts as “diabetes 911″ – which may build awareness of your page’s existence. be sure to post meaningful, thoughtful comments, however!

best wishes for a successful page; one that’s cooler than the other side of the pillow! (love that)

  • @scottieschufford-anderson  Congrats on your goal!  Very admirable.
Here are my impressions:1.  You have no pictures on your Page so you don’t have a photo strip.  Add photos from your journey.2.  Echo others with the Flickr and Ustream – remove them from the sidebar until you have content there.3.  In the About field, add your website so people can easily find it.4.  In the Info area, I don’t know who the “I” is – let us know who you are.   Format the Info area with page breaks so it’s more readable.  5. More relevant content on the posts.  Inspiration is great but we need more of the how-to’s and information about diabetes.6.  Make the Welcome Page the Default Landing Page in the Manage Permissions area.

    That’s my quick 2 cents!

  • Wow that was like some Jedi Master kind of info.! Thanks!

  • Great tips. I would add one more. Do some events on your Facebook page. For example, every week have an expert come (log in Facebook) and post on your wall (a Q&A sesion with your fans).

[Later Edit] One thing I forgot. Pictures are worth 1.000 words. And you are not using them. And another thing. If you post a link (to an article for example), it will take the picture (from the article) by default. It is better to do it differently – post the picture to your wall and, in the description, add the link. Your likes and shares will increase.

  • @Gabriel Thank you! I’m going to be using Fan Page Engine application as soon as they get the new verison up this month.Hint @Scott Ayres
