What would you do? If you could do anything on facebook or other (8 posts)

  • If you had unlimited programmer time and could do any project what would you do?Our next big project will be a facebook arcade to go alongside our games portal.

Yes this is me trying to get a little inspiration for other projects but i am also curious as to how other types of business would do it.

  • Interesting question @pacey.  I think if I were a programmer, I would focus on a game.  I like some of the usefulness of business apps but games have such a big audience.

    Other thoughts?

  • Very good choice @andrea-vahl but saying that i may be a little biased when it comes to games lol

  • @pacey– I think I would focus on apps, or plugins that implement Wordpress and FB together, that have cool features and solves a problem for Social marketer’s.
This is in the cue for me already after I finish my current projects. I have an idea for a plugin that I want and I will just need to execute it if it’s possible.

I agree with @andrea-vahl about the big audience, but not sure if it would be as profitable. I haven’t looked into games, so it could be.

If any knows of any great php/wordpress/facebook developers I will be looking for some in the near future. I’m looking to partner on deal or get it developed and purchase the rights.

  • @danhoward Yeah i could see that being a success. Surprised nothing already exists if i am honest. So which way would you do it? Pull content to facebook from Wordpress or just have more facebook features within Wordpress?

  • @pacey, Oh…there are a ton already out there. There are social opt-ins, fan pages, social payment plugins and more. It’s just making them better or adding a new features that just makes it oh so sweeter.

Some examples are WPFacePages and WP4FB for build fan pages from Wordpress.

  • @danhoward Thanks for sharing the fanpage links. i’ve recently submersed myself into the world “fan-gate” “tabs” and more – actually started with this sme post awhile back as my guide. also attended a tabsite webinar this past week – and they’re in the midst of developing integrated solutions (tabs, analytics, post scheduling) which seems very smart and the way of the future. some days i feel like i’m part the california gold rush (but sitting on my bum and not using picks and traveling through rugged, dangerous terrain!) :)

  • @pegsousa Your welcome! Let me know if you need any help. Yes, there a ton of apps out there. I use a variety from free to paid, but I agree with you. An app/plugin is just a few features away from changing the game and like you said being a Gold Rush!
