I am assuming the second post was the one with higher views. This is caused by post cannibalization. Facebook will automatically make your last post more important and show that one in news feeds. Every post has a lifespan, usually around 4 hours, so its important to spread out your posts so you don’t kill any.
Pictures are proving to be the best way to get your posts in the newsfeed. Just think about how Facebook is used. People scroll through their newsfeed and look at all the pictures, and if something attracts their attention, they read the post. This leads to people engaging by normally liking the post, because it is the easiest thing to do. Comments and Shares carry more weight in edgerank, so having a call to action to comment and/or share will help get into more newsfeeds.
They have changed a lot since feeling pressure from shareholders to find ways to bring in more money, and some have really hurt businesses, but i think they will figure it out.
