What is content strategy in facebook page (23 posts)

  • What is content strategy in facebook page. Or How to add it to Facebook pages.

  • If you are referring to the type of content you use on Facebook, think of ‘variety,’

CONTENT VARIETY consists of  LINKS from other posts you found helpful/interesting and shared, PHOTOS you upload or share, VIDEOS, or just plain TEXT.   A variety of content keeps your page interesting.

TIMING is another part of the strategy.  Spread your posts throughout the day to determine when you get the most engagement.  There is an timing option at the bottom left of your status window; set the hour, minute etc. as the enter each post.  To avoid posting in clumps – you can also use something like BUFFER to schedule them throughout the day.

CONSISTENCY also figures into your strategy.  Get started posting on a schedule that works for you.

Bottom line, is to do what works for you and your schedule.  Trying to fit into someone else’s idea of ‘what should be done’ can be quite up-ending and disappointing.

  • If you are looking for more in-depth information, type ‘content strategy’ in the search box on the upper right of this page – just above the Networking Clubs notice.

One thing to remember, there are varied opinions of what content should be, how often you need to do it, etc.  It is more important to just be you and just do something!  Good luck and enjoy the interaction.

  • try and figutre out what your  target  customer likes  and  do a lot of that….. mine likes  neat old  or  rehabbed   home interior  stuff….especially outside the  box or  big and  dramatic  and different…

  • Hello @anoob,

Facebook is a tool in your overall marketing and communications strategy. Choose to use it only if you have found that your customers spend time there and there is something valuable you can offer them to keep in touch with you.

Determine what content strategy would respond to what your audience likes to receive from you on Facebook to facilitate and nurture your relationship with them. Once determined, test your assumptions and see what is working the best. Facebook is very flexible so there are many things you can do, but always having mayor goals in place, whether is to respond to customer complains and doubts about company service/products, direct leads to your site to sign up/buy/contact you, learn about your audience interests, etc, etc.

For the content itself, as @melowout well said, you should test many formats including questions, fill empty space phrases, visual content (For Sure!), text on images, multiple choise questions, etc, etc.

    It’s very important that:
    - You show your community your intention to interact and listen/learn from them or what they have to say.
    - Show them that you actually use what they say and share with you.
    - Be there consistently and respond/thank every time they participate.

Set a schedule that you can accomplish.

    Hope this help.

    Best!
    Max.

  • @anoobI think that when it comes to content, to some degree it depends on who you are trying to target.  The important thing is to put content on your page at least once every day, and make it content that will be interesting to your fans.  What you really want is to put content on there that will get them to respond in some way…just reading it or looking at it doesn’t do the trick.  You want them to either like, comment, or share your post.  That’s how it becomes viral.  So if you post a picture, add a question about it to your post that gets people to respond.  If it’s something that you want people to pass around, then ASK them to share it. Facebook also has the question/poll post so that you can ask questions that get people to respond.

  • @anoob – I also think Max made some great points, regarding always responding to anyone that engages in your posts.  The whole point is to create relationships.  I prefer not to make it all about my business or about me, but to make it more about posting things that will interest my customer base.  Building relationships and credibility is what it is about.

  • @cynth1ab i dont  go too far in  posting   about things  besides   business….   my most  engaged with    posts  besides the  super cute ones i put on   rarely [like puppies]   …are  about  what my  customers and i  really like…. the kind of  things  i sell…they  like my  business and  isnt that why they   became  fans?   the  relationships  are around me  getting them  things  that   they like.or  at least  eye candy  from  their passions……so its business about  all the time…and it works if i   meet  their  hopes….

if i  sign up  for  grandma  mary’s fb page  i  dont   realy  care about her  dog or jokes….i get plenty of that  from  my  friends..

i go  for  good business relationships…built arouond my   stuff…that i want them to buy…so i can stay in  business…etc etc

  • In developing our FB content strategy we look at many pages. We look for pages with high PTAT ratios (PTAT/Likes) and then look at what they are doing right. We also look at the big sucessful players to see what they’re doing like Macys, Starbucks, Skittles & Redbull

  • @mitch-rezman  Excellent Tip!!!  Thank you for sharing that information – one more tool in the tool box!  [PTAT= People Talking About This (for some new members who might not know yet]

  • @mitch-rezman i would love to hear what  some of   your  clients are doing  right…. real life examples are so  nice to read…..

i look at my  ptat  ratio  for  sure….but im  fairly sure   lots of  folks   enjoy my page and never bother to   do anything.;…dang!!!  so  they dont  count  in that  equation…

  • @Ann at greenoak First an FYI – I have no clients just little ole me. Next a KPI sales related from Facebook. Ever since we started posting large images on a regular basis beginning in March of this year we actually began to see traction in terms of sales. From what I can make of Google analytics in the past 30 days we’ve had 79 sales attributed to Facebook and if I look at our addshoppers (https://www.addshoppers.com website product sharing platform dashboard) 29 of those sales came from shares. So we’re sticking with the “shiny key” method of marketing. I’m convinced the velocity of information on Facebook alone is really difficult for most mortals to assimilate so as a rule we try to keep it pretty simple. I know I need to fine tune this which is why I joined SME. We will be starting a sweepstakes today or tomorrow ( I think contests involve too many clicks and put too much of the burden on the end-user) and will be giving away a small gift every day for 30 days. You’ll definitely hear about our results in this formum

  • @Melodie Licht the PTAT= People Talking About This is VERY important. Facebook timelines are controlled by something called edgerank. Google has its search algorithm, Facebook has edgerank. If you’re at all serious about marketing on Facebook youneed learn edgerank and this is a good place to start: http://goo.gl/Jf5Zm

  • @mitch-rezman Still, the most difficult part is getting people to actually ENGAGE!  My EdgeRank is sitting at a 17.  Still working on trying different approaches, seeing what people share, etc.

It is definitely an ongoing process.

  • @mitch-rezman  mitch  you  said you  were out there looking at what works  on  others pages….   what  did  you observe?

      the  good…the  bad…

p.s.  love your   point on  keeping it  simple…i have to,,lol

computer work is  not my thing  its  too hard  for me…but i am getting  tons of   business from it[fb]….and  need to learn more …my dh is the nerd/tekkie   in the family but  doesnt get   social media at all, loves the results  tho…

    ..,

  • @Mitch Rezman PTAT is a new information and really appreciated. Please explain shiny key method you are using for marketing.

    ThanksAnoob

  • @anoob in a nut shell I stick with engaging images of birds (my vertical) I do use but get little traction with content & video

  • @Ann at greenoak I look at a lot of the big pages like Macys, Starbucks Redbull – big lesson don’t try to sell on FB.Macy;s does a lot of behind the scenes at fashion shows, nut just new lined of clothing as an example

  • I wanted to wish you and your family the best for the Christmas season.

  • Tons of good ideas in this thread!

  • @bob-green  WELCOME and yes, many good ideas, tips, and feedback.  When we get caught up in our own way of thinking or understanding, it is very helpful to see the views and opinions of others.  Gives us all a chance to re-evaluate what we are doing, and why!

  • @Mitch Rezman  “big lesson don’t try to sell on FB”. A very good information to all the social media marketers, who are trying to post only the products and services through FB pages and waiting for more likes.

The company, in my opinion, deserves attention. One of the highlights is the fact that its founder is James Lee Valentine. This is a famous person. Millionaire, author, business coach. Author of a large number of books translated into many languages, including Russian. For me personally, it is a reliability of the company. Because people with the name should value our reputation. This is not some kind of an unknown admin who can run a half-baked project or a deliberate scam. James Lee Valentine himself on the site gives the word, so to speak my personal guarantee that the company will work longer 2020.

By the way a big plus for us, the company has not yet unwound the CIS! For becoming a part of Give1Get4
