What are you charging? (13 posts)

  • What are you charging for your social media services?

For example, coaching by the hour.   Group coaching.

What about taking over an account and commenting for them (I do not want to do this but know others who are curious what to charge)

What other services are you providing and what are you charging for them?

    Thanks so much!

  • I have seen $299-$399 for monthly support of Social Media & Content Support.

    • Article Development
    • Content curation and sourcing
    • Blog post development
    • Twitter, FB, LinkedIn and Pinterest posting

$399 would be from a top company in the field.

  • Thank you @Juliemusial

What about hour by hour coaching?

I have no interest in commenting or posting for other people, but I am sure that others here would like to know.

  • As long as we are on the subject of pricing. What is the current going rate for Timeline Cover Images? (including the profile photo)

How much to install a basic app?
Does this include the price of the app thumbnail image?

How about an app with a link to a download?

What about the app thumbnails?  How much are they going for if the apps are already in and people just want the thumbnail image?

Thank you so much for the imput.  I have people who want to know, and so do I.

  • I have only seen monthly support, not hourly.  Maybe someone else has seen hourly.

  • @randithompson

I think determining a fee depends on your experience, knowledge/expertise and success.  I’ve seen people charge as low as $20/hour, up to $600/hour.

  • Thanks @juliemusial.  I have seen all of the above…just trying to set my own pricing points…  I see monthy support mainly for those who are commenting for other business people.  I am not interested in that…even though I know others would like to know what to charge for that.

  • @nicholeschlecht I agree.  I would like to see what others are chargings so I can look them up and compare where they are with what I have to offer.  Thank you so much for your feedback.

I would also like to know more pricing information.

I know other people who have entered the world of social media from their niches.  They are curious as to what they should be charging.   For example,  I paid $75 for my Timeline Cover Image and Profile Photo.

This is it:  How to Market Your Horse Business

This designer now has a waiting list and I am thinking she should be charging more?

I think there are many of us who have been specializing in our own niches before entering the world of social media.  Many of us are not sure what to charge or where to start.  This is why I brought this topic up.  I would really like to know and so would many of my associates who have also found themselves leading and making an impact in the world of social media in their niches.

  • Yes I think somewhere in the $75-$150 range is average for a profile photo and cover photo @randithompson

As far as installing an app, I think it depends on the app – one of the easy ones like YouTube only takes a few minutes but NetworkedBlogs is much more involved.  Then a custom tab is a different matter all together.  I think you need to calculate how much time you think it will take to install, add a buffer, and charge your hourly rate.

Hourly rates for consultants can vary quite a bit as  @iamconsulting mentioned.  I would say an average price is somewhere in the $50-100/hour range.

I do think it’s great to have a niche – since you know that niche well and can also do the social media work/training.

  • I know from my business I always discuss what a client needs before pricing a graphic – my graphics start at $49 and up and we also created packages so that a client can get all of their services in one spot or choose separate parts.
When pricing you have to try and configure how much time is spent on it then go from there.  I have heard that our prices are cheap so you may not want to base off of mine.

  •  Thank you Andrea of @andrea-vahl I appreciate you taking the time to respond.  I think that many people who are moving into social media from inside of their niche are not sure what to charge, or what the going rates might be.  It is a big shift!  For the first years I “gave it away” as I learned the ropes of social media.  Now, it is time to start charging for what I have to offer. I have come to love social media as much as what I have been doing in my niche.  Who would have thought?  What did you do before social media?

  • I also think it depends on the experience and skill level of the company performing the service. If you are offering customized work, I think thatnyou should be paid firmly for it because your cover will be totally different from any of the others out there with your own personal touch and style. Same thing for the apps.

  • Great info. Thanks
