Wel, well, well, this could be a controversial issue. What’s your opinion?

Certain spots in the Midwest are being touted as small Silicon Valleys. Here is the Time article from June of this year. Omaha, Des Moines and Kansas City are among areas in the Midwest that are creating a new entrepreneurial ecosystem in America’s breadbasket.

In regard to the coasts, West still has the edge despite the DC area growing venture capital and angel investors residing here (ex-AOL’ers, etc.) and the success of LivingSocial. Interested to hear what others think.

I reformulate the question. If you were a social media company (either an agency, or a company with a social media product), What are the advantages/disadvantages of being headquartered in the West coast or in the Easy coast?
