Unique FB Contest – What do you all think? (8 posts)

  • Hi all,

I’m currently thinking of creating an online contest for my business FB page at http://www.facebook.com/biipmi whereby contestants will submit a profile picture and CV online. The results of the contest will probably be base on 80% viewership “LIKE” and 20% scoring by a professional CV/ resume consultation firm.

I believe this FB contest will be an unique one as compared to the rest of the usual FB contests currently held. What do you all think?

    Thanks for your comments.

  • @anferneeck Hello Anfernee! I think you have a very clever idea, with the only concern being that I don’t know if “Liking” will be a good idea (what happens if a persons photo gets buried? Do they loose votes? What stops someone from voting multiple times for different resumes?). I would suggest instead that you pin a single post to the top of your wall, and that post would point to the contest tab. Now, in the contest tab, if you can, enable commenting and assign each contestant a number (instead of their name, which I would recommend blocking out of the images). Then voters could, if they wish, post directly on the tab with the number of the contestant. You can then enter the data into a spreadsheet to track votes!

  • Thanks @jasonreilly for the advice! Will definitely look into it!

  • You’re welcome! Good luck!

  • You cannot use “LIKES” as part of your way of choosing a winner, because its against fb TOS.

  • Thanks @vincentedwards for the advice, will look into it.

  • Hi  Anfernee Tan my 2 cents …- if you have about page – fill it up with information and not “forward” to your site- like contest is not allowed by FB and not relevant to people that are looking for a job- how about publish some jobs and ask people to submit CVs ther are some , work4us, or http://tinyurl.com/bm4g8gdEli

  • @vincentedwards is right, you can’t use Likes as a contest component.
