Tracking ”sharing” on Facebook (3 posts)

  • Hello Fellow Club Members!

How is everyone doing today? So my team here at BCCU is scratching it’s head. We’ve been putting up posts and then going into our personal accounts to share those posts with our followers.

The latest example was mine. The post went up yesterday (Sept 12th, 2012), I shared it this morning (Sept 13th, 2012), and I’ve already had a comment and a like (within minutes). I know that the person who commented has a huge following.

But none of that is showing up in the business page! From our page I can only see my comment on the original post: no sharing information at all. And it shows the same number of “views” that it had before, it doesn’t show anything else (even though I know views went up).

Has anyone else run into this?

    Jason

  • I have noticed this as well. This would be a good one for @emericernoult ‘s thread I think…

  • @claudia poeckl, you’re right! @jasonreilly, the fact that a comment made on your own story sharing the post does not appear on the page itself is normal. On the page, you will only see the comments made directly on the original content, not on the stories generated by people sharing the original content. However, you should see an increase in the viral reach metric for this.
