Tool for Recording Content and Activity (6 posts)

  • Hi All-
My company needs me to find a way to easily record my activity and posts on Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube. In other words, if I post an image or article about X topic I need to be able to later pull up all of my posts on X topic. Ideally it would also be able to keep track of my likes, comments and shares as well. Any ideas? Asking for too much?

    Thanks for the help!

  • You can look at MarketMeSuite.  It has the capability to look backwards for varying time periods (depends on the price point of the package you use, free one only goes back 48 hours).

Keep in mind that posts through 3rd party apps seem to be getting penalized on FB right now.

  • To reference what  @dedimason refers to on edgerank negative effects from 3rd party apps check out this topic: http://www.socialmediaexaminer.com/clubs/facebook/forum/topic/do-third-party-scheduling-apps-negatively-impact-your-edgerank/

@mesaerin are you just recently looking to begin tracking your content and analytics? Are you using the Facebook Insights already?

  • @alexandrabriggs~ thanks for posting that.  I’d read several articles on the topic but couldn’t remember where any of them were.

Personally, I may use MaketMeSuite for twitter posts but I’m going to keep posting the way I am for Facebook (manually).  It’s hard enough to get my posts in the news feed without being penalized for using a 3rd party app.

OH ~ and in MarketMeSuite, it is NOT picking up my manual posts.  Just so you are aware of this limitation.  I like the Facebook Insights page for tracking my posts.  If you haven’t checked it out, just go to the page you’re wanting to look at and click the Insights tab in the tabs section.  Certain insights are exportable, too.

  • Thanks everyone! I am using FB insights and hootsuite which are great but my board of directors basically wants to see EVERYTHING I do on social media. They are not social media people so they don’t necessarily get that there are more important things to monitor. On the other hand, we have manufacturers that want to see what marketing we have done for them including social media and besides manually keeping track which is tedious, it would be great to have it all one in place. I guess I will continue to go manual until I find something.  Thanks again!

  • @Erin Costello – could you take a screen shot of all your sent tweets? They should be in a stream of their own on Hootsuite.
