Many of us use our phones for business.All of us love “convienience”.I received an email alert that @melowout had recently mentioned me in a post of hers. I thought to myself, oh great! To the Social Media Examiner forum I go! Well, I arrived. But struggled harder than ever to read her post, it became increasingly harder to login, navigate, read, and post.I won’t drag this post out much longer. Stick with me…I’m seeing this forum and the other become more and more popular. I don’t know the admins, I haven’t looked into it either, but I think it’s time for a Social Media Examiner to go mobile. An app would be extremely helpful.I’m not very active in this community because its not very mobile friendly. I get frustrated trying to poke around and having to drag my finger all over the place when reading a post.I’m not sure if anyone here has an iPhone (I’m almost positive most of us do) but there’s a community called YUKU and they’ve got an app that works beautifully. How they did it for there forums. I don’t know. But it’s something to INVEST in if the admin wants this community to take off. I’d be here all the time sharing knowledge and talking to like minded people. But I’m always mobile and don’t carry a laptop with me every where I go.What do you guys think? @juleswebb well I can tell you this. I spend a lot of my time on my mobile scheduling meetings, emailing, ect. – I also use it for community discussions and so far all of my posts on SME have been from my iPhone.After tonight…. I’ve come to the conclusion that SME is now where near, and I mean absolutely not mobile friendly. Thanks for taking the time to read this post, and giving your opinion! I think it would be great if this site was mobile friendly. And actually, I would make the whole clubs section a lot better. For a small group of people is fine, but everyday there is more people in here and the site is just not made for so many people.As a web designer I can see a lot of flaws…It would be cool if there were more sections or more ‘clubs’, if the site was easier to navigate, to reply to people’s answers, to search for post, etc, it would be a lot better.

I mean, just be more like a forum and less than a blog section.ps. sorry for the bad english

@hytare I kind of like the simplicity of this site.  I can scan each of the Clubs to quickly go to topics I’m interested in – review previous posts and respond, and also follow a topic I’m engaged in.

I get frustrated with sites that are so large and complicated.  Also, the forum setups I’ve seen – even when you search – you come up with more that doesn’t belong in the search results than topics that match your search request.

Do you have a couple of sites in mind you could refer us to with a layout similar to what you mentioned?

Great ideas everyone and thanks for the idea Raymond!   We are really spending a lot of time right now talking about the Clubs and where we want to take them next so this is great feedback.  I don’t think there are plans now for mobile but I’ll make sure @Mike-Stelzner sees these ideas.  

@hytare    Thanks for the link.  I couldn’t read it but it does look well laid out and user friendly although it is not mobile ready either – at least not from my end.  It won’t be long though, all sites that want to reach mobile users will adapt their sites.  I know many people are looking forward to that time.  Thank you for responding and have a safe and Happy New Year!

@riddlelo I’ve mentioned a mobile site (or app) about 6-9 months ago Just never harped on it too much because I figured the team had a plan…
