Tagging from Facebook Business Page? (7 posts)

  • I’d like to be able to tag members of my Facebook Page, particularly since some of them were recently promoted in a martial arts test that I administered. It seems that I cannot tag individuals under the “Bamboo Spirit Martial Arts Centre” business page. Is tagging limited only to personal accounts?

Any hints/tips would be greatly appreciated.

    Merry Christmas to all!!

  • You can tag them if they make a comment on your business page.

  • You can tag other Pages but tagging is quite flaky.  You used to be able to tag personal friends if you were logged in as your personal profile but I don’t know if that’s not available anymore or just not working today.

You can tag within a thread of someone who has already commented on the thread or people can tag themselves in photos if you have that option checked in the Manage Permissions area.

  • Brian, Tagging works in different ways on profiles and pages.
I am assuming these people are friends with you on your personal profile:
There is a work around that I love to use….Create a post on your page and include a photo, something relevant to what you want to ‘tag’ the people for. Now visit your page (don’t click on the ‘use FB as xyz page’), visit the photo and tag the people on the photo, that will draw from your personal profile friends.
I hope that helps ;-) Eden

  • Eden that is a great workaround. Need to try that one. Thanks

  • Another way, which is actually good for your page’s engagement/edgerank, is to ask those folks to go in themselves and tag the photos so they can share it with their friends and family.

Have a quick instruction sheet/guide to show them how that you could hand out after the test.

  • Thanks for the input!

I guess that the best way of tagging on the Business Page is through Photos. I read somewhere that if you create an event on that Page which members of that Page attend, it might be possible to “tag” them in status update regarding that event. Is this possible?

Don’t get me wrong….I’m actually low key when it comes to promoting my Business and want to do it in a sensible way. I’m not looking to bombard Facebook. LOL
