  • Hi … I am having to put together a portfolio and I was wondering if someone out there would like to share theirs?

I am just looking to see how you handle the presentation as I’d like to have something to show potential clients my work … which is a bit hard as the bulk of my work is confidential.

    Thank you,Robin

    Hi Robin,

I’d say the best way to present your portfolio would be to give potential clients a presentation (as opposed to just sending them a digital file through email and saying “this is what we’ve done”).

Bigger is better so a projector helps (especially if you’re presenting to more than one). You can then methodically take them on a “journey” through each of the Social Media campaigns you want to present & describe why you did what you did (without giving confidential info away) and follow up with what success you got from each campaign and how your analysis has helped plan the ongoing success of these and future campaigns.

They’ll really want to know that you know what you are doing and that you deliver results – don’t get too technical with online or Facebook jargon with them, they probably won’t care much for that.

I wish you all the best acquiring many more clients :-)

  • good idea for a forum post – link to my portfolio

  • You can do a presentation style and do a screen record and blur out the confidential information of your clients.  I have a clause in my agreement that says that even though the work is theirs….I have the right to show it off as part of my portfolio.

If you cant show any part of your clients name/logo you can use a fake company in place of.  But remember to note that on the presentation (names/links have been changed to protect confidentiality, etc).
