Social Media is driving new clients to aesthetic medical practices (2 posts)

  • More and more patients are looking for both information as well as advice on elective procedures.  And they are doing so through various channels of Social Media.

    As described in this article:

more and more potential clients are using social media to research procedures as well as practitioners.  And given the relative paucity of training physicians receive in how to actually manage a social media campaign, this is an area ripe for growth and expansion.

Being a physician myself, I realized the potential of SM several years ago and have used it successfully to educate my client base, attract new clients, and establish myself online.

I would be interested in feedback on experiences other members have had with the interaction between Social Media and medial professionals.

  • @gregorybuford this is exactly what my company does, http://revivenyc.com. We specialize in working with Integrative and holistic practitioners in the field of (w)holistic marketing and design.

I think it is great that you have seen the potential early on and dug in…it shows. We see a couple of big challenges in this market.

    1. practitioners main excuse is they don’t have the time to invest
    2. they are not tech savvy and don’t know what a tweet is
    3. they are not sure what their position is so they don’t know how to use it effectively
    4. they don’t see the immediate return so they don’t want to invest the money in it
We are working on several ways to help practitioners overcome these barriers to entry because I don’t think there is a better industry for social media than the health field. It’s all word of mouth anyway, right?!
Thanks for the post and article link,
    Rachel
