Selling items on your FB page (8 posts)

Topic tags: e-commerce, sales
  • Who sells items from your FB page?  What application do you use and why?  Did you set up a special account just for FB/e-commerce?

  • Hi Dee,

Great question! F-commerce is a great idea if you have the right fan base and strategy!

There are different applications that you can add to your page, or if you have a good web developer, using iFrames is another option.

An app you might want to check out is:

    Some helpful posts:

    Hope this helps!

When and if you set it up, message me and let me know! Ill want to take a look :)

  • Hi @deereinhardt  I do have a Facebook Store on Grandma Mary’s Page here:  http://www.facebook.com/GrandmaMaryShow?sk=app_135607783795  I used the Payvment app and it was easy to setup.  I have only sold 1 e-book with it but to be fair, I never promote my store since I have the e-books available for sale on my website too.  But I like that you can give Fan-only discounts.

The other app I like is ecwid:  http://www.ecwid.com/  Because you can do integrate that with a website and there are more merchant options.  Hope that helps!

  • Yup, we use Payvment — it’s a pretty popular and free platform. To be honest, we haven’t had much success with it, but whether it’ll work for you is largely a function of your overall social strategy and how receptive your particular audience is to using Facebook to do their shopping. Lot of experts are anticipating for f-commerce to grow in the coming years, so getting an early start is probably a good idea.

  • We sell coffee from our page and use the VendorShop shopping cart.

It’s free and we’re doing pretty well with it. I don’t think it’s “user friendly” enough in terms of layout or look, but we’ve received no complaints with it. We love that it’s free and that we can give coupon codes to people who like the page.

You can see what it looks like here:

  • Dee,

I hope this will be helpful answer according to your question:

    1. Page owners can sell items from the page as and however they want.

    2. There is different applications on facebook, simple click on search bar and type Shop and you will get a lot of options, mostly free apps does not offer enough options and also offering limited options. You can also use paypal or facebook credits to create your online shop on facebook.

    3. And you don’t need to create any new account for configuring Shop on your page, you can do it from your page or personal Account.

let me know if you want to know more about it……

    Cheers,
    I Rafi

  • Can you use the same or similar apps to sell items from your FB profile or do your need a page to participate?

  • Thanks for all of your answers.  I have heard good things about Payvment and I sat through a webinar on e-commerce for a wordpress site.

If anyone else has any suggestions, I would be interested to hear about them.

Does Payvment have it’s own payment system or do these incorporate PayPal or the like?
