Remove Business Page on Facebook (8 posts)

  • One of my clients has a business page that was created by a no former employee. No one else was set up as admin. They need to take the page down. Any one know how that can be done?

  • @flosmwizards I am not sure that you will be able to re-access the page. You will want to go through the Facebook help center. We had the same issue with someone who is no longer an employee who set up one of the pages. Luckily we were able to access their corporate email and perform a “forgot password” process. We were able to then login to the account and add an admin and delete the former employee as admin. I hope you are able to sort everything out!

  • Thanks @alexandrabriggs! Unfortunately it’s not a corporate situation, rather a non-profit and the person apparently attached it to their personal account. I did find that the page could be reported as a duplicate, but I do not think that that will remove it. This is one of the the things I do not like about Facebook. You can’t speak to a real person to get a problem like this resolved.

  • @flosmwizards I believe you can submit a follow up query when a help topic does not answer your question. i agree from the standpoint of a business user it can be frustrating to not have someone you can call for assistance. Good luck! let us know the outcome!

  • I’ve seen this same situation @flosmwizards in other places (it especially seems to happen with non-profits)  You can do a Report a Page on the lower left corner, or use the Facebook Help reporting area, or even possibly the infringement reporting http://www.facebook.com/help/contact.php?show_form=username_infringement

    Good luck!

  • You can report it as a trademark infringement and Facebook will delete it. You need to provide your Trademark info. We had that happen with a non-profit. Someone set it up and no one knew who had originated it.

  • @andrea-vahl and @kathyweir Thanks for the info. It is not a copyright or trade mark infringement. Just a case of someone setting up a ‘business’ page on behalf of an organization and then leaving the organization.

  • We had the same situation and it was taken down under the copyright infringement. It might be the easiest way to resolve the issue.
