Question on Promoted Posts (4 posts)

  • If a friend of mine would comment negatively on a promoted post, would I see this promoted post in my newsfeed? I ran a campaign for a client, and they have their fair share of negative posts. I’m afraid of a negative comment being promoted and getting the views. Has anyone seen this happen?

  • So is it a comment within the promoted post that is negative?  If so, then yes, that comment is also traveling with the Promoted Post and people who see the promoted post will also see the comment in that thread.

It’s a hard problem if a company is a target of negativity.  I don’t have any great solutions for that other than to delete that negative comment which I don’t recommend.  Anyone else have any good thoughts on how to handle this?

  • I have never used promoted posts so far, but if there is a way to change the promotion period, I would simply let the promotion end earlier (immediately). I wouldn’t delete negative comments but would try to react on it in a proper manner.

  • Yes, good points. I have yet to see a promoted post that has a negative comment, but had to see if it was possible.
