Promoted Posts on Facebook (3 posts)

  • Listening to an Amy Porterfield webinar.  She mentioned promoted posts.  If the average fan page only has 150 fans, why are promoted posts only available to fan pages with 400+ fans.  Is there a way around this?

  • @deereinhardt Hi Dee

I think you may be mixing up profiles with pages. The average person has 150 friends on their profile.

Pages are different. And Facebook have said that promoted posts wouldn’t see much affect to those pages with less than 400 Likes. And no, there is no way around it.

Just curious, why do you need them?

  • @deereinhardt, I guess Facebook assumes that if you only have a limited number of fans, your page is quite new and so your number of fans has just grown recently.

A fan who just recently liked a page is still more engaged than someone, who has subscribed a year ago and not interacted with the page recently – thus will not see the page’s udpates.

Promoting a post should help to reactivate that old fans, who haven’t seen your posts in a while.

    I hope my thinking makes sense… ;-)
