Promoted Post Case Study Questions/Screenshot (5 posts)

  • Hello There:

I tryed the new Promote post feature because I did see my wall post were only reaching on average 17% the total pages fanbase  of 606 fans.

So I threw in my $5 dollars in the hat and saw the reached got up to 55% of “something” over the 2 day or so promotion period.

So I guess it reached all my fans and friends of fans since it said 998 fans whick I dont have /55% reached,  insted of around 333 which in a little over midpoint of our 606 fans.  This is odd…

Anyway, since I cannot upload the screenshot here please go over to the page Im building and click on the screenshot so you can see the comparison of reached fans then and now.

While you are there please hit the page Like button so I can get my vanity url please.    Here is the link http://www.facebook.com/pages/MAXXON-GROUP/358649765161

    Cheers!

  • @carlosdixon Hi Carlos

Firstly, the number of people reached are not just your fans, but anyone who saw your post. This means friends of fans.

Secondly, the “something” is the percentage of your fans (those who have Liked your page) reached.

Thirdly, you can get your vanity URL straight away – you don’t have to wait until you get 30 Likes any more. So go nuts! :)

  • Hi Russell:

1-On the other regular posts of that screenshot, the fan count does  represent the actual percentage number of fans reached out of the total number of fans who liked the page.

If I extend that same line of thought to the Promoted posts, the numbers would not make sense.  The final count of people reached, not shown on the shot was 998 and at 55% it was still not done reaching the full 100% of whom?

So at the end of the promo when they put out they reached 998/55% the first question that comes to mind is 55% of what or whom?  Dont get me wrong Im not complaing of the almost thousand people reached, just thought it was odd.  But is good to know there is another tool out there to reach the fans of your page and then some with a modest investment amount.

    2- So 55% of 606 is still not 998 :-)

    3-Really?  Im on it!

    Cheers

  • @carlosdixon  So what is your total fan base?  What the the Paid and viral stats say?  I’m intrigued that it said 55% but had over your fan base.  I think there may have been a large viral component if that’s the case.

  • Hi Everyone:

    @andrea-vahl

The total fan base is 606 fans.(www.facebook.com/gelateriaantica)
The paid reach is 867 people
    The total spent was $4.13

I posted all the insights on:

    http://www.facebook.com/pages/MAXXON-GROUP/358649765161

Interesting is that  today´s post is the most viral ever, could Promoted post give trigger the pages edgerank since you just reached a boat load of people?
To me the numbers dont add up or the reporting is skewed in regards to that 55% reach that I still have not gotten closure on.
