Problem adding admin to Page (6 posts)

I’m trying to add a fan as an admin to my page. She’s liked the page and I’ve clicked on “Show all” likes to see her profile pic and clicked on Make Admin, it takes me to the admin screen, i type her name in…nothing happens. I type her email address in, nothing happens. I have tried this several times for 2 days without luck. In the meantime, I successfully added another administrator to a different page by typing in their email address. Our profiles were not friends in either case. Can anyone help me with this?

I have not done this too often myself, but maybe you have to fan of their page, or friends in order for it to show up. Just my first thought. Wonder why that is happening?? @fran-eleazer

I’m pretty sure you have to be friends in order for their names to appear in the admin box, but I think email address will work even if you are not friends. I have never tried to admin a fan from the list so I am not really sure why that wouldn’t work.
See if you can get their email address and try to add them that way and let us know if it works.

I’ve never encountered this problem myself, but what I can tell you, is that in my experience these kinds of FB bugs are frequent and this problem should disappear by itself. Although I really am curious @fran-eleazer, please tell us when and if this problem had been solved and what caused this problem.

I would try connecting as friends @fran-eleazer to see if that helps. Sometimes that does make it easier. You can un-friend after you try the admin if you like but I would go that route.

I finally got it to work. Here’s how it went:
- did not connect as friends through my profile
- never able to use the tool to add an admin through the list of fans
- never able to add an admin by typing in their fb profile name
- ONLY able to add an admin by typing in the email address that they use to login to facebook
