  • Sometimes I make a post in a specific Facebook page, but this post does not display in the news feed of the followers. Why do you think this happens? You can see it in the wall of the page, but its not available in the news feed of the followers.

    Thanks for your opinions!

  • @fernandocortes Hello Fernando,

I am not a Facebook expert, but having managed two pages up until recently, I can tell you that only posts from the administrator of the page (brand) will show up in followers’ feed. If you, as a fan, post on the wall, it will only be seen by fans who actually go the FB page wall. Which, to be frank, is a very small minority – I believe less than 5% of FB page fans actually get their information from the wall, the other 95% get it through the news feed.

    Hope this helps.

  • @fernandocortes Yep,  @fredericgonzalo is right.  If you as a Fan post on a Page, it stays on the Wall and is not seen by the Fans of that Page unless they come to the wall of that Page.  So since such a small minority of people come to the actual page, that’s why Page owners don’t have to worry too much about rogue posts.

Sorry, maybe I did not explain myself well. This happens when posting as the administrator of the brand facebook page. The post should apear in my followers news feed the weird thing is that sometimes  the posts dont appear at all. I have handled several fb pages and this is the first time this happened.

    Any ideas?

  • @fernandocortes A-ha, got it. Well then, this will mostly have to do with the new Facebook edgerank system, that is both complex and mysterious in how it sends your message to the newsfeed of followers (fans) of a page.

Many brands have noticed this phenomenon, and I know Mari Smith spoke of it during the Facebook Success Summit during last Fall, but not sure as to why this is happening. Perhaps @andrea-vahl can shed some light here?

  • @fernandocortes Actually, Fernando, read this and it shall do the trick: http://onlinewealthpartner.com/edgerank/

    Cheers,
    Frederic

  • Thanks @fredericgonzalo
Its hard to believe that FB make things like this. For example if a Company pay for facebook adds and get some followers, this followers are not getting updates because of a low EdgeRank? Seems not fair.

But well lets start making some buzz to this low EdgeRank FB page. Thanks for the info!

  • @fernandocortes You are welcome. Indeed, it seems unfair, but at least now you know what to work on to turn things around… ;-)

    Cheers,
