I went on vacation, and when I got back yesterday I found that I am getting pop-ups on my profile page, along with random ads. Also, I can’t seem to switch over from my personal page to my fan page.
Did anything change while I was away? Do you think it could be a virus? Your thoughts PLEASE!!!

Hey Denise,
Sounds like you may have some application that is causing this. Visit your account settings and click on “Apps”. If you see any that you don’t recognize, delete them. You can do the same within your fan page. Hope that helps.

@deniserubright – I had exactly the same thing happen to me last week. I had downloaded a free software – an html editor. When I did the download it added a Toolbar to my brrowser which I did not approve. I checked in my programs and noticed this new toolbar and uninstalled it. Problem solved! Could you have uploaded something that added a toolbar to your browser?

I tried both of your suggestions and am still getting those pop-ups. It’s very strange. I am also running a virus scan to see if anything else comes up there. @jamesalonso @dcoville001

This is a common problem from Facebook malware. You can see how to get rid of it here: https://www.facebook.com/help/adware
It also can be an App issue as @jamesalonso mentioned. But if you’ve deleted any strange apps then it isn’t that.
