Photo Albums for Business FB Pages (9 posts)

  • Hi Everyone – I’m trying to customize my company’s FB page and the Photos app is giving me a huge headache.  Occasionally I will post something and upload a photo to accompany the post.  That image is then saved in the Wall Photos album and the most recent image then shows in the Photos app. I tried to setting the Album cover to my company’s main logo and shifting the albums so that the Wall Photos album is last in the list and that did not help.  Any suggestions?  Thanks!

p.s. Is there an app out there that will allow the photos in a particular album to rotate?

  • @wendievan, i think all of us are having the same issue with the timeline photo album. I remembered someone did mention that FB hasn’t gotten around to fix that yet. Meantime, we may have to bear with it.

  • @wendievan Do you mean you want a custom image on your photo tab to show up? Right now I think there is only one way to do that. Any time you upload photos, you have to again upload your custom app image to your wall/timeline so that it is the most recent photo uploaded. Then just hide that post.

At least so far, that is how I am doing it to keep my app images consistent. You can see mine here: https://www.facebook.com/TJFormalDresses

  • Yes, @wendievan no one can customize their Photo app – it always shows the most recent photo you have posted to your wall or uploaded to an album.  So the only way I see to control it is the way that  @marylarson mentioned – you have to keep uploading the same photo over and over.  Doesn’t seem like a lot of fun to me, plus I’m not sure if you end up with an album full of the same photo?

  • @andrea-vahl @wendievan Yes, the photos end up in your Wall Photos album. If you don’t like to see them repeated there over and over again, you have to delete them. I keep my Wall Photos album cleaned up anyway, since I post sale and contest images, etc. that expire, so I don’t mind deleting the repeated app images too. It’s worth it to me to keep the timeline looking good.

I’m still just really happy that we can even upload custom app images. :) For free.

  • @louisteoh @marylarson @andrea-vahl – Thank you for confirming what I was suspecting. I was hoping that setting the album cover would fix the problem but it doesn’t.  If I delete the image then it also deletes the post associated with it.

  • @wendievan @andrea-vahl @louisteoh You have to keep at least one version of the image in your album. Do not DELETE the post where you uploaded the photo from your timeline, just HIDE it.

The reason setting the album cover doesn’t work is the app image comes from the last photo uploaded, and it will come from whatever album that last photo uploaded resides in, not just from Wall Photos.

  • @marylarson Thanks Mary.  I didn’t mean ‘delete the post’ I meant deleting the image from the Wall Photos album. I’m in the i-gaming business and if I hide the post our players will start thinking we are playing favorites, so that’s not an option for me.  I will just have to be very careful about what images I upload.

I appreciate your time responding.  This forum rocks.

Have a good weekend everyone! Another sunny day in Malta this weekend!

  • @wendievan Ohhhh…I see, that’s interesting! :)   Well, you are probably stuck then until they give us some control over that app image.
