Page admin…..but cannot do anything but view stats…. (4 posts)

  • Hi guys,

I am new here, but thank you to everyone who has befriended me so far, you are a lovely lot :)

I am very very new to social media from a management sense, and Facebook is a whole new ball game to me as I use a different social platform for personal use.  I am helping a friend get established in social media so I can put this knowledge I have to use, and am enjoying the learning curve immensely, however, we seem to have a bit of problem and I do not know how to solve it.

She had someone else doing her social media and that relationship has now ceased. We have been given the passwords to all the platforms that were being worked on for her, but when I log into FB, I can see the stats, but I cannot edit any pictures, move any of the custom apps or reply to messages and when I try to post from her account, my posts are coming up on the right hand side of the timeline as, ‘recent posts by others’ with a little generic blue avatar. If I click the avatar next to my post, it then takes me to her page?!?!?

Is there a ‘main admin’ and have I been given restricted access? I have searched and searched around the page to see if there is something I am missing, and tried FB support, but alas, I cannot find anything :(

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated and thanks in advance.

    Mandy xx

  • @mandybcollins Mandy, there are now different levels of access to Facebook pages from “Manager” to “Insights Analyst” which it sounds like you are.

Check out this article for more info: http://allfacebook.com/five-levels-page-administrators_b90437

  • As @mandybcollins said, now facebook offers multiple admin roles to manage a page. Go through link she provided and you will learn the difference between each role and its rights. What i guess from your description is, your friend or you might have been assigned admin role in form of advertiser or insight analyst, because advertiser or insight analyst can see only insights or stats. Manager is the superior admin who has rights to all activities. @kc_kreativeHere are different roles and their rights or privileges. For a solution, you can ask the super admin (Manager) to make you Manager to be able to post on page.

  • Thanks for the responses guys :) Both the owner of the site and myself had been added as View Insights, this has now been resolved.
