Offering Gift Certificates (5 posts)

  • Morning! With the holidays upon us, I decided to learn more about offering gift certificates for my services. I’ve taken a look at Heyo (formerly Lujure), Woobox… came across Booker (but seems like much more than I need). Any thoughts out there on how to offer a virtual Gift Certificate through a Facebook App? Or other ways you’ve accomplished this?

This forum is always where I turn with the challenging questions. LOVE this forum!

Thanks Michael Stelzner for creating it, and for the moderators who keep it efficient and growing!

  • Hi @michellefontaine Do you have a place where people can buy gift certificates right now one for your services on your site?  If not, then you probably will need some type of service that tracks it.  A Facebook app could be a good tool for this.

I don’t have any other great ideas for this at the moment but maybe others have a good idea on how to get this done easily!

Not yet. What I have done is create two PayPal gift certificate buttons on my website shopping page. Works fine. Then I created an iframe Facebook page and that’s not working as it should. I may end up putting an image on a FB custom app page that leads to the website page.

But sure hoped others had ideas out there.

    Happy Thanksgiving!

  • Hi @michellefontaine, you can integrate the buttons on your fan page using a custom app like Shortstack. All you’ll need is copy the buttons code into the app, and link it up with your page (If you need help, let me know).

PS: Post the link to your fan page so I can have a look.

  • The iframes can definitely get wonky when the checkout happens @michellefontaine  It can look good initially but then the Paypal probably isn’t set up right to be in a smaller area.  An image linked to your own site may be the best option
