    Hello Friends,

     My company is planning to build a Facebook App to promote our content in a better manner. We want to promote our movies page.

    Could you please tell me how to go about it. What are the key factors to keep in mind about Facebook Apps? How will it reflect in users profile & newsfeed as well?

    How to make it engaging & interactive?

    Have you looked at the developer’s area on Facebook?  http://developers.facebook.com/docs/guides/canvas/ 
     I do also like Jesse Stay’s book on this and we have a review of it here:  http://www.socialmediaexaminer.com/how-to-build-your-own-facebook-app/

    You might start by looking at other movie apps that are out there and seeing what you bring that is different.  Here are some apps (although they may not be around anymore since this is an older post)   http://news.cnet.com/8301-17939_109-10314794-2.html

    Yes, i saw that SME post about Jesse Stay’s book. Nice post

    I need advice about how should the image for the app look like, i mean any ideas about the design of the app image.  What to & not to mention in the image?

    How to make that image interactive? As far as the coding part is concerned development team would be working on it so i need not break my head over that :)

    When it comes to facebook apps there are one or two technical concerns around success and scale. You, not facebook host your app’s backend unlike the page itself. Depending on how you write your app (facebook apps are notoriously browser cache un-friendly) performance can be poor especially when a 2nd or 3rd tier tier web provider is used to host.
    We (where I currently work), published a FB app and it became successful by our standards before we pulled it. We pulled it because the hosting (bandwidth) costs did not match the business value we where getting from it.
