Need suggestion for my Facbook page (27 posts)

  • We created this page in order to hopefully help fill the void that’s demanded unbiased e-cigarette information from an authority without any advertising agendas.I need suggestion to improve the visibility of my page.

  • Hi @randy-simmons I’ll chime in with some suggestions right away.  You do need to remove your website address from your cover photo, that’s a violation of Facebook’s terms.

I think the other thing you can do is to post more questions to get people discussing things about your niche.  Ask them what brands they prefer.

Then do some Facebook searches to find other niche pages that you can comment on as your Page to increase your visibility.

An ad campaign may also be a good thing for you to try if you have some marketing budget.
What are other people’s thoughts on this?

  • Hello @Andra Vahl I really appreciate that you have taken time to address the issue. I’ll follow the suggestions and do everything possible required to keep things moving on. It is great to have honest opinions and feedback available for a new member like me. Thank you, once again.

  • I also have a question about my Facebook page.  I am trying to attract more students for my on-line class, but it’s going slow.  Is there anything else I can do?
https://www.facebook.com/YucaipaWritersGroup You can take a look here.

Anything will  be appreciated.  Thanks in advance.

  • Hi @randy-simmons, how’s the going? In order to get things going, @andrea-vahl‘s suggestions are good ones to go for. I’ll just add a few.

    • Your Branding needs to be revamped (i.e. The cover/profile image design).
    • Custom Tabs integration for effective marketing.
    • Your page is not recognized by facebook (This is found when you click the icon beside the message button; as the admin, you might not easily find it).
You can check this ebook to find out more tips on this.

Hi @claudia-barlow, I’ve also had a look at your page, and there’s a lot you need to do. Here’s the major things you need sorted asap:
    • Cover and Profile images
    • Proper info set up
    • Custom tabs design and set up for marketing
    • Content strategy
    • A Website (I couldn’t find a link, so I’m assuming there’s none; but if there is, then you need to integrate it on your page).
They might all seem overwhelming, but they are the major ingredients of a productive fan page (If you need help getting started, let me know).

  • @claudia-barlow I have a look at your page. Your page is asking to join your writer’s group for having an enjoyable time just to get together for talk & write.

    • Share your page with your FB friends, so that more and more people come to know about your mission.
    • Join some forum for same niche to spread your facebook page.
    • Setup some other social like twitter and G+ profile as well.
    • Setup a profile image & a cover page describing your vision.
Have a look at some of my facebook pages:Ecigscornerus cashloanscornerus

  • Thanks for the suggestions.  I’ll try to find   some pix to post on there.

  • @otoabasi umonting I appreciate your support. We have done one or two things, as mentioned. We are trying to implement all the suggestions one by one. Thank you.

  • @otoabasiumonting

Can you explain your comment: ”Your page is not recognized by facebook”? Why would that happen? How do I know if it’s happening to my page?
I have a lot of problems with my page. Could that be why?
    Thanks.

  • Hi @carrieachase, it means the page has not been claimed on facebook, and this can be an issue (i.e. someone can jump in and claim it, and then strike you off as admin).
It’s the same case on your page. I’ve added you as a friend on facebook, and the reason I’ve done that is because I will be able to send info to facebook, letting them know who owns the page (I can’t do it if we are not connected).

  • @otoabasiumonting I’ve never heard anything about this. I created the page, how can it be unclaimed? Why can’t I tell Facebook I own it and why can you?

  • @carrieachase here’s the thing. Most page admins hardly notice this issue, even though they created the page themselves. This usually happens with pages created under Places (It’s also depends on your business category).

Page admins usually find it hard to tell Facebook because in most cases they can’t even find where the problem is. You can learn more about it here https://www.facebook.com/help/location/claim

I took some screen shots of your page to show you what I mean:

    Major Problem:

I hope this explains the whole issue better for you @carrieachase

  • @otoabasiumonting Thanks for the info. I’m actually set up as a person (writer), which makes this even more ridiculous. I think I was originally set up as a local business and maybe that’s why someone can still claim my page. There are actually still fields in my edit area, asking me to enter my address so people can check in. I obviously don’t want people checking in, which is why I changed to a person! lolThis is why I’m beginning to dislike Pages and question their usefulness more and more. Facebook is so buggy and the newsfeed algorithms don’t work at all like they claim. I joined this forum to see if anyone else had the same concerns or answers.I know I’m a small fish and I’m sure the big dogs (advertisers) don’t have these problems. (Is that a mixed metaphor. lol) But I am in the position to help other marketers use FB. And I’m getting more and more turned off.Ok, I’m done venting now. :)

  • Hey guys and girls,

I manage a few facebook pages for a Chiropractor and Massage Therapist. I’ve only been doing social media internships for about a year now, and I just started managing facebook pages a few months ago. I respect this community and would love some feedback!

  • Hi! I try to attract more people to the site with video chatting and therefore to our facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/pages/Gitune-Live-Video-Social-Network/410140729032950?ref=hl) but we still have not so many “likes”. Can you please review our FB page and tell me what is necessary to change, improve or add?

The point is that I’m new to this and your advice is really crucial!

  • Hey Anastasia, your link isn’t working :(

  • @Randy Simmons I’d suggest more images. Your product when isolated is just not visually engaging. Just a thought – maybe go retro some old cigarette ads, movies and TV shows from the 50′s. I’m a big Perry Mason fan and Paul Drake always has a cigarette in his hand.
then tie it in some how with something like “what if they knew about ECIGS then? You can find some old “birds selling cigarette ads” on one of my pin boards http://goo.gl/VtXnC
some of these are a hoot http://goo.gl/ns9AM especially the babies hawking Marlboros! good luck

  • Hey All,
I hate to bother you but I have a question that I just cant get answered. I have an FB Ad Account that has become delinquent, I ve updated the payment source but have tried several times to get it to process the payment but all it has done is take like a dollar out and then its done. So I m not sure what to do. Is there any suggestion you could offer me?
    Thankyou so very much,
    -Erin

  •  @tim-alwell Sorry, I’ve changed the link.

  • Hi everyone,

    I am the owner of a blog i.e. postfever.com

The Facebook fan page of this website is running quite slow. What tips would you suggest me to increase the number of likes & to increase the engagement on the page.

    Thanks in Advance.

  • @mitch-rezman It is a great concept. I can see what you are trying to say here. I’ll definitely go for it. It is such a creative concept that I’m already feeling excited. Once again, thank you

  • @erin-maloy I’m afraid to say we do not have much to offer. You need to get some expert assistance from the FB team. Thank you

  • LOL I dont think you realize FB Assistance is non existent. But hey, I always trouble shoot it anyways.

  • @randy-simmons – FYI http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=24plxMk5aWU

  • @anastasia – your Facebook page is going to be hard for anyone to find because of your generic URL.  You would get much better results if you update it to something that will make it easier to find…something people will be searching for.For another thing, I find that I have much more success with my pages when I put content on there that is not all about me or my business…trivia, events, fun content, controversial content…anything to get people to respond.  Creating relationships is what it is all about.  So if you put content on there that will get people talking to you, then you will have better success.  Just some thoughts.

  • @erin-maloy  Unfortunately, Facebook customer service IS non-existent.  It’s really too bad.  There IS a company that handles customer service for Facebook, but they charge through the nose to talk to you…they require a credit card upfront.
