Need Help! Cost effective 3rd Party Promo APPS Needed (11 posts)

  • Hey friends. I have been running 3rd party promo apps and hosting for clients. I’m finding that there so expensive that its really hurting my profit. Are there any apps out there that are cheaper then Wildfire? I need a basic “sweepstakes” type app with a submit type format. Something I can customize with pics and links and the usual.

    Thanks so much!

  • Hi @kevinhaszard – it depends some times how you are running them – some are cheaper if you run them for a whole month.  I just found PicCon – a photo contest app that isn’t too expensive:   https://www.facebook.com/PicCon.Photo.Contests?sk=app_147829725284569  Easy Promos is also inexpensive:  https://apps.facebook.com/easypromos/?ref=ts
Then Shortstack is a good app that will do contests that is priced by the month:  www.shortstack.com
    Anyone else with some suggestions?

  • And one more for a Facebook sweepstakes app that is free.   http://www.rafflecopter.com/  I have not used them or seen them in action so not sure but always worth checking out!

  • I just attempted this through rafflecopter.  Feel free to check it out but PLEASE DO NOT ENTER (unless you’re a golfer in the SE Michigan area) ~ I’d hate for a winner to be someone who can’t even use the golf pass.  It’s hosted on one of our course FB Pages:  http://www.facebook.com/Lilac.Golf

If you do check it out, please PM me and tell me if you landed on the contest page or not (PM so that we don’t take this discussion off track, please).

BTW, this is the first time I’ve ever added a tab to a Page or hosted a contest and it was VERY EASY!

  • Hey thanks for all the info. I got pretty fed up today researching and ended up just going with Shortstack.com. Its not bad for what it is. I’m already finding that inter grading FB content into Shares is a pain. It wants to share the App. If anyone knows a way around this let me know.
Check out these promo pages out i just made. Feel free to Like & Share =]
I’ll be launching my web site this week. I’d love some feedback.

  • Hey Kevin,

We have a deal app you can use. http://www.fanpageengine.com/apps/

Let me know if that helps. :)

  • @David Foster what do you think about MLM amd Facebook?

  • Kevin-For the future, Votigo is really cheap–like 5.00/week.  You can use CSS to design a contest or use their templates.  They only thing I didn’t like was the vote counts don’t show up publicly.  We had to post them each day.  Easy to work with and contact re: issues, as well.

  • @Scottie, I would avoid MLM on Facebook, and the reason I say that is initially I helped some MLM companies with their Facebook marketing and Facebook did not like it…so much so that they took many pages down. You just do not want to promote ANY money making opportunities, and you don’t really want to promote an MLM product, because at the 10,000 fan mark you will have to prove ownership and if you do not own the product etc. you could lose your page and all the work you have done…

So what I have told most MLM’ers is to brand yourself on Facebook and do training etc. with very little promotion. Tons of free advice and training to get people going and use other sources to promote…because again you do not want to do a ton of work to just have it taken away…that would totally suck!

    Hope that helps!

  • @kevinhaszard ~ Looks like you managed to get it to Like and Share the page.  What did you have to do?

  • @dedimason – I used iFrame and Facebook Developers codes.
