Insight (17 posts)

  • My question is related to analytic data on FB. If I were to use a dash board such as Hootsuite,  would it replace insight?

  • @contacttm I would create a personal account (if you don’t have any, Facebook doesn’t like fake accounts) and use that to create pages for business pruposes. You don’t want to friend every of your contacts and possible customers. You want them to like your business page.

  • @milan-steskal Thanks Milan. Would you know if it is possible to just change my account to personal or do I have to start over?

  • @contacttm I’m 99% sure, that you have to start over

  • @milan-steskal Thanks again, will let you  know when I’m done

  • @milan-steskal @contacttm Sorry I didn’t weigh in on this earlier!  You do not have to start over.  What you can do is create a personal account with your name, Tom, then Like your Page, then go and log in as your business page and make your personal profile the admin of that page.  That will take care of it!  To make one of the people who Likes your Page an admin just click on the notifications at the top or click on See All next to New Likes on your Admin Panel.

    Hope that helps!

  • @andrea-vahl @contacttm Well, what I meant was, that Tom needs to create a personal profile, not that he needs to create a new Facebook page. Thanks for the clarification Andrea :)

  • @andrea-vahl @milan-steskal Thanks for the excellent advice. I’ve opted for settingup my personal page /tommerson  and its great. Now, to get down to work and reap the benefits.

  • Awesome @milan-steskal –Good luck with everything @contacttm

  • @andrea-vahl Thanks Andrea

  • @andrea-vahl An other question. Does a personal account have access to “Insites” data?

  • @contacttm Personal accounts don’t have “insights” but they can see the Insight data from any page that you are an admin.  Hope that helps!

  • Great, thanks. Have an amazing weekend

  • Hi there,

understand the problem 100% – I started with a personal account, but wanted to add children who incidentally are our pupils but felt it was wrong to approach them under my real name. I had made a business page too, but then changed it to make the school an account,  which we use often to contact our pupils on a regular basis when the need arises.

I made another business page, which I named correctly and many of our learners liked the page, but what is better to have, the page or the account, or even both?

If both, how do get them interested to interact with the page, I’ve tried numerous approaches and nothing seems to work to get them involved with the page. I look at the insights and all they say is:

reached 15     0 people engaged                     0 people talking about this

    15 organic       0 link clicks                               0 likes

    0 viral              0 stories related                         0 shares

it seems to be the same with a lot of material I post, that it might say 1 people engaged but nobody is talking about it.

Am I confusing the people with having both page and account?

Apologies for the length of the question involved and many thanks for your help with my problem.

    Regards

    Sylvia

  • Unrelated question. How do I get another topic started?

  • @contacttm

  • Thanks Ian…guess I should get a new pair of glasses.
