Looking for beta-testers for my new Facebook Fan Builder tool (8 posts)

  • G’day all!

I’m murray – an independent software developer over in Australia and I like to spend time making complex software simple for people.

My latest project is FansFlood — “a drop-dead simple way to skyrocket your facebook fans in no time at all, with the traffic you already have.”

If that sounds like something you might be keen to do, then I’m keen to have you try out my software for free!  Just signup here and you’ll get access to everything:  http://www.fansflood.com/betatest.php

Let me know how you go — I’ll available to support via email.

    Cheers!

    Murray

  • Hi Murray,  How do you justify an explaination for these facebook TOS:

    1. You must not incentivize users to use (or gate content behind the use of) Facebook social channels, or imply that an incentive is directly tied to the use of our channels.

    4. Platform integrations, including social plugins:

    a. Your advertisements must not include or be paired with any Platform integrations, including social plugins such as the Like button, without our written permission.
    b. You must not sell or purchase placement of a Like button or Like box plugin.
    c. You must not incentivize users to Like any Page other than your own site or application, and any incentive you provide must be available to new and existing users who Like your Page

Id be interested to know, because it seems your product skims the edge of these TOS and facebook.

  • @murraygray I think this is also borderline promotional on your own part by posting this in the clubs.  One of our Club rules is here is to stay away from self-promotional links:   http://www.socialmediaexaminer.com/club-rules/  Otherwise everyone would start threads about how awesome their services are – which we know everyone is awesome but let’s help each other out within the Clubs.  But I am going to keep it up here just to continue the conversation started by @vincentedwards

I do think that this plugin is ok on point number 1 above, because I think that is referring to the fact that you are obscuring or gating information that is public on Facebook itself.

I’m not sure about points a because I’m not sure what the Advertisements refers to in that case.  And I think b is ok as well because he isn’t selling the Like button placement.

But I do think that c may be questionable because I’m not sure if the content would be available to people who already Liked your page.

And Vincent I think you missed point d in those terms which it does definitely seem to violate which is:d. You must not obscure or cover elements of our social plugins, such as the Like button or Like box plugin.
So I would be a little wary of that point.

  • hi guys

thanks for reminding me of the TOS – it’s always good to review and double check from time to time.

the biggest grey area of all i see is (C): incentivizing people to click the like button.

as i see it, if you want to enforce that, you’d have to shut down every single site that’s ever said something like: “like me to receive updates, cool stuff and discounts” – pretty much everyone.

andrea – i’m not 100% sure what it means to obscure or cover elements of our social plugins. are you referring to where the software hides the like button after the click. that’s easily reversible and therefore within the TOS. :)

    again, thanks guys!

    m.

  • @murraygray From a beta testing standpoint, “easily reversible” sounds troubling.  Sounds like it’s making extra work for the user. How is it easily reversible?

It seems the app is limited by the amount of friends and followers. If only a few people are seeing the content, the app would be limited in its effectiveness.

A TOS violation could cause a user to lose their account. Not good for your app.

The principles behind your app can be put into practice in mere minutes without your app.

  • I think if you say click like for a $10 discount you’d be okay.  For me, I’d rather collect an email address than a like.

  • hey KR McGee — you’re right.  we’ve gone back to keeping the like button visible at all times. :)

  • @murraygray That’s good to hear. Might beta test this to see what all it can do. I’ve beta tested for Sony for over a decade, so I’m comfortable with the process.
