    friends click on it, they are sent to a google index page.

    Should it not go to my Facebook page. Everyone else’s that I’ve checked so far goes to their FB page.

    This should direct me to your Facebook business page, which you should have already defined your own URL. If you did so, it should look like http://www.facebook.com/yourbusiness

    I got it!!When someone is logged-into facebook and goes to your website and clicks on fb icon, it goes well to your page at https://www.facebook.com/allyourhandbags but when someone is not loggedin to fb while browsing your website and clicks on the facebook icon, it goes to facebook’s home page and soon as someone logs-in s/he gets redirected to your page. Please check these both scenario and let me know if this works for you or not. I will provide you steps on how to fix this, if this is the case for you.

    @albert73 It is all about country restriction setting of your page.Go to your facebook page admin pagel -> Manage Permission -> Country Restriction.

    If you have entered any country name in the country restriction box, users from that country won’t be able to see your page while they are not logged in to facebook.

    @moinshaikh. Thanks for working on this for me–all the above has been checked out and makes sense. But, I might have been asking the wrong question. When someone gives me a business card on it is their FB address along with others. When I type that address into a search bar, I go straight to their business FB page–it doesn’t happen with mine. Basically I’m trying to people to go to FB page to get updates possible before going to web-site.

    Hmm… Just to clarify Bernard, are you saying that when people manually type in your Facebook page address they are coming up with Google results?  

    If that is what you are explaining then:

    This would normally happen if folks put the URL into a Google search field.  If they put it in the address field (where it shows the http://) then they should go straight to the page.

    Hope this helps clarify.
