Like buttons. In the FB club (8 posts)

  • @albert73  Hi

I’m being asked to ” Like”  other people FB pages. Is it as simple as clicking their like button, or is there something else I should be doing!.  How do they know I’ve ” Liked” their page.   Thanks for help     Bernard,

  • @albert73 Hi Bernard, when you “Like” other page’s they either receive a notification if turned on or they use other services to track new likes. When I log into my association’s page, I get updated on likes, post responses and private notes to us from the FB admin dashboard.

If you want to take it to another level, try to comment or even post to those pages. This helps them with engagement and adds activity/exposure to your page.

  • @kc_kreative       Hi Kristy, Thank you very much for your prompt answer -sorry for the delay in answering, but I’ve been unable to get into SME nearly all day and not 1 email has been  received–most unusual.  I have another question. Can a  business page LIKE  another business page. I’ve been told today that to like a business page,it is neccessary to Like from a personal to business. Your help would be apreciated thanks  Bernard

  • @albert73 Yes we were having some server problems on the site but Mike upgraded the servers so we should be good to go!

You can Like a Page either from your personal profile or from your Page.  The Like only “counts” (as in increments the number of Likes) from your personal profile so that’s why a lot of people want that type of Like rather than one from a Page.

Here’s a post on how to Like another Page as your Page:  http://andreavahl.com/facebook/how-and-why-to-like-other-facebook-pages-as-your-page.php

  • @kc_kreative,   @andrea-vahl

Thanks ladies for your help @albert73

  • this  new things  might  get  you some negatives….i am  getting these kind of likes on my page…from other businesses…. i am  hiding  all of them  and   thus  they are getting a negative…i dont want other  businesses on  my page….im a store i dont want other stores on my page….like me as a person is  fine…

this   might  be  great in  some worlds  but not the retail world..imho…

  • @annfurnivall I would hope that there are complimentary or completely non-competitive businesses that could provide acceptable (ice cream shops, delivery services, truck rentals, shipping, etc.) posts.

  • i just  dont want them, UNLESS  they are  talking about my store…….im not there to advertize anyone else’s business……………to me its  pretty  close to spam…

..if a store  comes in and  buys a  counter from us  and posts how  nice we  are…lol….then  thats  fine….but   thats not  the kind of posts im  talking about…or if    we had an exchange  agreement with a local place  that would  be different…im  talking about  other  businesses who talk about their business on my page [to my customers]….

..if i liked another  page i would post as me  not   my  store…. its not a marketing   idea that i will use on another stores page ..

..i might  do it   with a  big organization in my  field …;like a  fun  big  repurposing   place…

@kc_kreative its  just  something to  think about  before you   have  your  clients  do  it…. maybe im  the only one  who  would  hide these kinds of posts……maybe  some  resturants  want   other local  resturants on their page..?????  or a ladies  store wants to  tell their  customers whats on sale at the other ladies  store…..
