I’ve tried the New Facebook Global Page structure (5 posts)

  • When Facebook introduced the new Global Pages Structure it immidiatly caught my attention and thought “this could be what we are looking for”.

As the Social Media manager of a global brand with 48+ market pages the news that we could be able to merge all pages under a single Brand name without loosing the possibility for markets to still personnalise their message was a great one.

I got in touch with Facebook on the subject and they sent me out a presentation explaning the different possibilities we had when converting to the new structure along with an excel file to map out the regional pages to be assigned to different countries.

In the excel sheet you can redefine each market page username (URL) and Page name. I therefore got in touch with all markets and asked if they wanted to use this opportuinity to rename their page. Most of them decided to go for the Brand Name  + Country name, either in english or in the local language.

  • Awesome @vincenttervooren Was there any minimum requirement that Facebook had for these?  I know there are others interested in it but I think some companies may be smaller and may not qualify.

  • I don’t know if there is a minimum requirement. However I don’t think there should be as smaller companies might have one or two very important markets where they want to share specific content and have more generic content for the rest of the world.

  • There is, in fact, a minimum requirement if you don’t have an agency–it’s around $15K/mo ad spend, as I just went through this for my brand. I was originally quoted around $3K/mo ad spend for non-supported Global Pages, but Facebook reneged the offer.

  • Excellent info which I never would have known about except for reading it on SME! Thank you!
