  • Hi, I’m a relatively new social media marketer. I’ve been learning on the job, having been made responsible for the social media presence for iYogi, which is an independent provider of tech support for consumers and small businesses. I do not have a glorious background in social media with reference to the business pages however I am proud of the small achievements we’ve had in the past five months.

I’ve been learning on the job and have been focusing predominantly on the Facebook Platform. The page I manage is facebook.com/iyogi.

I’m so glad to have access to this club because I have questions, need help and want to learn quickly. I look forward to meeting and sharing ideas with the fantastic people who are members of this club.

  • Hi everyone,
it’s great to be on board this platform. My name’s Otoabasi Umonting, and I’m based in London, UK. I’ve been marketing online for over 2 years now and I’m currently working with clients to help them with social media strategies (Mainly monetizing Facebook using their fan pages).
I’m also into Network Marketing, and I have to say I haven’t really thrived that much on that arena. Based on the mindset I used to get involved, and the mistakes I made, I came up with the name for my business – Mindset4mlm.

My business focuses on a local geographic area and this part of Western New York is not highly populated, so I look at this as a challenge.

My company’s Facebook page is https://www.facebook.com/AffordableComputerSvc and I look forward to learning a lot here!

  • Good day from sunny Arizona!  I’m a work-at-home contractor for http://www.SingSnap.com.  I only recently started dipping my toes into the waters of social marketing, especially Facebook.

With ideas and tips/tools I learned from the Facebook summit last Fall, I’ve redesigned our Facebook fan page and have increased our likes from 10,500 to over 41,000 in just a few short months.

My goal and struggle now is in engaging our Facebook fans.  We do not have a blog on our site, although I am campaigning for one, so all of my Facebook content needs to somehow excite users to comment and share.  Right now, I am finding it difficult to come up with engaging topics, questions, polls, etc. on a daily basis.

If you’d like to check out our fanpage, you can get to it here:  SingSnap on Facebook

My personal page on the SingSnap site is: Annie on SingSnap

    Happy Singing!

  • Hello! My name is David Foster and I am the CEO of a social marketing company named hubze, and am the founder of the FanPageEngine. I used to swear I would never have anything to do with Social Media, and now I live and breathe it! Funny how that happens…

I am always eager and willing to share information with anyone who asks or listens. :D I am glad that this site has been created and I look forward to getting to know many new faces here…

  • Hi guys!  Hope everyone’s enjoying this site as much as I am.  What a great concept!  I love that we have all of this info in one spot and that we can pick each others’ brains for info.  My philosophy is that every person you meet has something that you can learn from them . . . so I can’t wait to learn from the people here.

I have been quietly specializing in marketing for years, always driving people I worked for into something they hadn’t utilized to help their business, so social marketing obviously caught my eye.  I currently do the marketing for 3 golf courses and recently started a branding company with my son.  Our focus is small business.  I’m amazed every day at the people who think that ‘only big companies’ can do ‘such and such.’

As for links to sites that I maintain, those will be posted later.  All of them are currently undergoing a full makeover with everything moving toward HTML5 and CSS3.  Gotta keep up or be left behind!

I started Facebook pages for the courses last year and have been learning tons of stuff in the process ~ not always fun, but when I do have successes, it’s extremely rewarding.

My goal in these groups is to better myself as I help others do the same.

  • Welcome David and hey, Dedi, I am enjoying the clubs. Learning a lot and it is great to have so many of us together and sharing such pertinent info.

The day of Christmas they would throw apples and nuts down on the floor. She dress her brother as Santa Clause. She made halo out of hangers and gold Christmas tree trimming. She and her sister would transform themselves into beautiful Angels. Walk up to their parent door and began to sing Christmas carols. We will leave the rest up to your imagination. Birth Doula page- “Doula Surround” I am a childbirth labor assistant and love to offer many resources to mothers who are pregnant, about to give birth or want to become pregnant.Positive Affirmations page- “Positive Affirmations for Pregnancy, Birth & Breastfeeding”  I send out affirmations so positive thoughts can sink into the brains of many mothers and their families about birth and breastfeeding being the normal, natural event in life that they are.Breastfeeding Peer Counselor page- “Breastfeeding Peer Counselor” I am a certified BPC and advocate and support all who are striving to give their child the best nutrition humanly possible.

  • Hello, All!

I come from a background in Radio/TV through Education and back to marketing with Social Media. Along the way, I’ve also had a book publised on living a life without regrets. I’m interested in a lot of things, which makes serving as a social media manager a good fit for me. I manage a variety of profiles on Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and Google+ for businesses who want to “outsource” their social media to me – in part or in whole.

My company is called “Polka Dot Impressions” because I believe that everything we do or take an interest in creates a “dot” around who we are. Put them all together and we form the umbrella of “who” we are, multi-faceted and multi-purposed!

Here are some links – I’d love to have your feedback:

In addition to my work, I spend time assisting several local nonprofits with their social media strategies on a pro-bono basis and I am thrilled to see some of you are involved in similar fields!

  • Hi Everyone! What a great idea- Social Media Examiner- thank you for creating this networking opportunity.

I am at http://www.brainjacks.net and my profile here has links to Google+, LinkedIn and Twitter.

My business is in e-learning. I produce buy on demand webinars with relevant topics for small businesses, NGO’s/Non Profits and general interest.

I am really interested in SM and in learning what you are all doing in your businesses and how it is working for you. I am happy to share any information you see, or would like, in the event I may be of any support.

Since Facebook first came out, I have been immersed in it with family and friends and am just getting a page together for Brain Jacks. LinkedIn was easy to use and a good fit. From some research I have read, FB is typically used by people who are looking for social connection and although a HUGE volume of our online neighbors are using it daily, some have reported that people who are on facebook are not in the category of consumers. I have read SO many articles and posts and it is so overwhelming- lol- so am looking forward to learning about how you all use Facebook and Google+.

Have a super Friday! It is a long weekend here in Alberta, Canada- Family Day on Monday- so am looking forward to the time with our family- ironically, we are only a few minutes from Montana, so we are going there to enjoy some shopping and winter fun.

    Take care,
    Suzanne
    :)

I work a full time job during the day I love at Cherwell Software as a 3rd level technical analyst. http://www.facebook.com/CherwellSoftware  As much as I love my job I still want to run my own business full time one day.  I have two things going right now.  Peak View Computers, and Vdubs and Jeeps.  I get computers and love working with them and I like helping people out when it comes to computers.  My other passion is the Volkswagen Beetle and Jeeps.  When I retire I want to be a mechanic, so I thought why not start up a small restoration/service shop for Volkswagens and Jeeps.

I am still getting things setup and from the looks of it this forum is going to be great help.  Here are my links.

  • Greetings! I’m known as “The Declutter Lady.” If you feel overwhelmed trying to face all you have to do, we can help to make it all more manageable! We turn your “disaster area” into a decluttered environment, ready for action. Doesn’t matter if it’s your office, your home, your computer or your schedule.

I had pegged this month as “Facebook February” in order to make time to learn how to use it more effectively. I have collected a number of e-books and articles that I have not studied yet. I’m planning to use my FB page (if it’s an appropriate idea) to give “fans” real-life, real-time help and direction so they can get things done. I just don’t know how!

Here’s my page: https://www.facebook.com/thedeclutterlady; Just 2 “likes” away from 200!

  • Hi everyone,
I am working hard to learn the social networking/marketing ropes. Our company provides automated telephone check=in and medical alert service to people who live alone in the USA and Canada. Getting a handle on the topic will be beneficial.

For whatever reasons, I am having a hard time getting my head around Facebook for business. Do not currently have a FB account (maybe – I shut down a disastrous attempt that I hope has gone away) and plan to study the process until I feel comfortable with another attempt.

Looking forward to the advice in the forum.
    Cheers
    Jon

  • Hey Peeps!

I am the Social Media Manager at PostcardMania. Our company creates effective lead generating marketing campaigns for small to mid-sized businesses. Our main specialty is direct mail postcards (hence the name), but we also do website design & development, email marketing and more.

As the Social Media Manager, I run all the marketing efforts via social media channels for PostcardMania and our CEO, Joy Gendusa. I’ve been a fan and follower of Michael Stelzner & SME since 2009 and had the honor of being a featured case study on SME this past November on our marketing success using LinkedIn.

There are a ton of awesome businesses and organizations’ pages on here, I will do my best to try visit as many as possible. Looking forward to networking and meeting you all!

  • Hi All! I am new to this group and would like to connect with people who are involved with social media!

I work for a hotel group (Oasis Hotels & Resorts) that would like to become very active in the social media market and have recently started a page on FB for them. The page is really looks great as we installed media players for each property using VFM Leonardo. I would love any feedback!

Next I want to start advertising on FB and start running some contests with hotel giveaways. I am working with Wildfire on this. If you can check out our page and let me know if anyone has any tips. The URL is http://www.facebook.com/OasisHotelsENG

    Thanks so much!!! Karen

  • Has anyone ever used “Wildfire” to run a contest on Facebook? Would love some feedback!

  • Hello everyone, my name is Kevin.

I recently formed and am the President of a non profit organization called The US Military Hall of Fame.  I started this non profit in hopes to create a place where those who have sacrificed so much can be properly honored the same way we honor sports players in almost every sporting category.  By forming this Hall of Fame it also allows us to preserve the history of the men, women, and units in each branch of this Military.  As a society we have grown to preserve the history of an event such as Pearl Harbor and not really those who participated in the event.  As time goes on this history fades into the past.  My hope is to establish a place where our children and grand children can visit and learn about those who sacrificed to make and keep this country free.
On Facebook search The US Military Hall of Fame,  On Google Plus search The US Military Hall of Fame, and our website is http://www.usmilitaryhalloffame.org
    Im glad to be here…
