My business partners and myself have recently launched a venture called HealthCare On Call.

As I have been on facebook longer than my partners, I was “asked” to take the lead in developing our online presence.

So, not being an expert, I am really looking forward to hearing all the tips and tricks y’all (yes, I’m from Texas) have to share.

    Have a GREAT day,

  • Hi Everyone,

    So excited to be here!

My small business is Initiative Based Writing — I write web copy and white papers for lawyers, and other service professionals.

My background is in law — as a litigation attorney in Las Vegas for 14 years I honed my persuasive writing and advocacy skills, and now pair those with my absolute LOVE of writing to serve clients in the new marketing paradigm.

I had the pleasure of interviewing Mike about the release of Launch a few months ago and one of my goals for 2012 is to blog more consistently.

Outside of business I train for triathlon, my husband sails and has just started a business selling freshly roasted coffee at farmers’ markets, and we have four pets that help keep us busy.

  • Hi! Kathy Weir here in Tucson AZ. I have had a telecommunications business since 1979 working with small and medium sized companies in Southern Arizona. Over three years ago a friend approached me to help her with Facebook and Twitter. I took the challenge and every day has been a learning experience and improving along with way. I have organically grown her page to over a 1000 friends who actively comment on her postings. One of my most amazing accomplishments was the day Martha Stewart followed our Twitter feed and when she visited Tucson personally ordered and picked up lunch for her staff at the restaurant. Social media does work. I manage several pages and provide consulting. In 2012 I am considering going in an entirely new direction, specializing in locally owned restaurants. Maybe we need a group for location based services too. Looking forward to networking, sharing and learning with all of you. Thanks Mike and Team Social Media Examiner for putting this together.

  • Aloha! I am Chuck Lasker, an Inbound Marketing Educator on the Garden Island of Kauai, Hawaii. I’ve been involved in online marketing since 1995, full time since 2003.

While I teach how to use Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn and more, I’d be kidding myself if I thought I could keep up with everything that’s happening in social media. So I hope for this new network to be a great source of information as well as discussion on what’s happening now and where social media is going in the future.

  • Hi Everyone! I am so excited to be a part of the clubs! I am from Fayetteville, GA just south of Atlanta.   I have several things going on business wise.  I own Social Life Online where I teach, help or do social media marketing for small business owners  and non- profit groups in my small town.  I also work with a local web design firm where I put together Social Media strategy for their clients and make sure they know how to use it.  But as if that isn’t enough… the most fun I have is doing the social media for the local newspaper and magazine.  I can’t tell you how exciting it is to bring the new digital world to traditional print but using QR codes and click through links on the websites to Facebook pages and more!  I am looking forward to some great discussions, sharing ideas and answering questions with you all.  I love making friends so feel free to request a friendship. https://www.facebook.com/maggie.zerkus

I also hope you like my pages:

Really looking forward to connecting with you all!

  • Hello fellow Facebookers.  I come from the land of the Frozen Chosen — translation, Vermont USA where those of us who spend the winter here do so for one of 2 reasons:  we either tolerate the bitter cold weather so we we can live here and appreciate the spring, summer, and fall or because we love the snow and the indoor and outdoor activities that go along with it.  I stay here for both reasons.

I have been self employed for years, many of them as a computer consultant, helping small businesses get their computers up and running and training owners and employees how to use them.  Most of that activiaty happened before networking and email were on the scene.  For personal reasons, I gave that up for a while.  But now I’m back at it.  Now I’m building and supporting business pages and mobile sites for thoe same businesses that again need to be pulled kicking and screaming into the new world of social media.

I love the challenge and I look forward to the great social networking opportunity that this club presents.  And I look forward eto sharing ideas and successes with all of you.

  • Hi everyone,

My name is Andrea Kwan and I recently moved back to Toronto from living in Hong Kong for 14 years.  It was an adventure that’s for sure, there I did a couple of jobs.  I was a voice actor for the same company for 14 years and ran it at one point before it was sold.  If you have ever been in HK international Airport you have heard my voice. :)

When I wasn’t doing that or when business was slow I was a teaching assistant in an international school and worked with kids who were in grades 1 and senior kindergarten.  I love kids and have always been interested in children and technology. That’s what I’m exploring now, I’m studying ECE and belong to a meetup group here in Toronto that discusses Mobile applications.  I was recently asked to be an assistant organizer and spend my time greeting new members, tweeting during the meetings and trying to build our community.  And that’s what lead me here to this site!

  • My business is Hometown Web Experts; I operate my business in a very rural part of Central WI. My target market is small businesses and non-profit organizations; I offer web design and social media marketing services to my clients. I started HWE two years ago and have been struggling to get it off the ground. You can find HWE on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/HometownWeb.

The biggest challenge I face with Facebook is figuring out what content to share with my fans. I’m also struggling to build a fan base as well.

  • Greetings!

My name is Robin Carlisle and I live and work in Flowery Branch, Hall County, Georgia at Lake Lanier. I’m a professional writer, editor, videographer, internet marketing and small business consultant, and teacher who had the honor and privilege of teaching English in Sachkhere, Republic of Georgia (former Soviet Union) last year. Their president wants their children to learn English within the next few years to ensure their country’s peace and prosperity.  And I still want to help him do that.

Teaching and living in such a beautiful country, both their people and their landscape, was an experience I’ll never forget and long to return to someday. My goal is to convert my living into an international one, where I can spend winter months here in Georgia USA and the milder months in their Georgia working on my laptop and volunteering in their community teaching English. I’ll most definitely be a double trouble international Georgia girl then!

Another goal is to help my school there build internet resources online for our students there. They have no heat in the school, no chalk, little paper, and few resources but big hearts and a desire to learn English. Any ideas or help you could throw my way on this project of the heart would be greatly appreciated.

    Happy Networking to all!

    Robin Carlisle

  • Hi, Great To Meet You… I’m Rory Ramsden… My main focus is to work in that sweet spot where offline, online and mobile marketing strategies combine to transform conversion rates and boost long term customer value. I use innovative ideas that are proven to multiply top line sales without doing the same to overheads.

I’m also a water sports nut and have the pleasure and the privilege of working with some of the best athletes in the world. These are the guys and girls who take part in the Olympic windsurfing scene for whom I manage events off line and also handle the online marketing of those events too.

This involves launch marketing – building buzz and anticipation in the lead up to big events -  social media campaigns using Twitter and Facebook, Video marketing campaigns using YouTube Plus driving traffic using dynamic images AND integrating all these different channels into one online platform where armchair visitors can access all of this media in one easy to navigate dashboard.

I put these tools to work for carefully chosen private clients too so don’t hesitate to contact me to discuss the marketing challenge you face.

  • Hi everyone,

It’s been great reading about all of you. I’m sure that I will be coming back to this post for all of the sections often to learn more about everyone & newcomers.

Facebook has always been my 1st social media love. I started blogging first but Facebook was my 1st social media outlet that I used to promote my blog. I then eventually branched out to Twitter and then LinkedIn. My Facebook page is

    http://fb.com/RealEstateSocialMediaMarketing

We have had the most success the past 4 years growing our real estate team and finding new clients via Facebook ads and leading them to webinars. My hubby still can’t believe the leads that I send his way via Facebook.

I started blogging 4 years ago on a free wordpress.com blog about internet marketing for mortgage & real estate. My husband & I have been in the real estate business for 10 years now. Although my degree is in engineering, I’ve always had a passion for writing and did just as well in school in writing as I did in math.

I worked for Boeing for 10 years before I decided to work from home with my husband’s growing mortgage business. During the time I was home, I obtained my real estate broker’s license and now my husband and our team work for me. :)

My internet blog transitioned to my current blog http://NaomiTrower.com which is a combo of internet & social media marketing strategies for real estate & mortgage professionals.

I also have a fitness blog that shares resources that have helped me to get rid of my belly fat after having 2 kids. I’ve always been fit & a multi-sport athlete so the extra fat just had to go. I enjoy sharing my journey & continual journey to eat well and stay healthy.

I have written articles for Social Media Examiner (<— My SME posts here) in the past but 2011 was a busy year of consulting, renewing my broker’s license and several speaking engagements at Real Estate events. I have also written articles for The Niche Report (major mortgage publication) and Social Media Marketing Camp.

    Let’s all rock 2012!!!

  • Facebook I’m on the fence with this one, I tend to use it in  a more social way and then drop in business posts.  I use Posterous and I must say when I use this for post it does bring me around 100 CT’s but not much in any interaction.

Once again like I said with blogging the one thing I would be interested in is increasing interaction on Facebook but I am very inconsistent and fickle at times

facebook.com/sturban incase you are interested and please dont tell me I should use my real name coz I’d rather stay and bit more private than that (maybe not so social)

  • Hi, I’m Debbie Gioquindo and am known as the Hudson Valley Wine Goddess.  Five years ago I began a blog to educate people on wine and then began to focus on the local Hudson Valley wine region and entered the world of social media.

Last February I lost my day job due to downsizing and decided to do the two things I love.  Helping people market their business and educate them on wine. Presently I educate and consult with local businesses on how to enter this social media platform and be successful while incorporating it with their use of traditional media.  I am also a Certified Specialist of Wine and do wine education and tastings.

My social media success story:  I answered a tweet in April about wine that lead to partnership and launch of a new wine brand Happy Bitch Wines on November 1, 2011. Through social media we have sold over 350 cases in just 2 months.

I am eager to learn and share ideas and knowledge with everyone.

  • Hello Everyone.

I just joined this club. I’m not exactly sure what to make of FB and its role in my business (http://www.reportcontentwriter.com), but I feel the need to learn more — from members of a trusted forum such as this. So, I enter the “club house” cautiously, but hope to absorb enough positive energy to contribute meaningfully.

  • Hello hello!

I am a fresh college graduate putting all the long hours I logged on Facebook to good use. I am currently a consultant for an upscale restaurant in Reading, PA as well as the Social Media Director for a media relations firm out of Morgantown, PA. I live by the motto that every Facebook should have a landing page that is a dazzling welcome tab and that every artist should have a Facebook. My expertise lies in the arts, but I can learn any industry in a very short amount of time. I am really excited to be a part of this and learn about new techniques and brainstorm some ideas that can be beneficial to all of us. This is a page I currently update as well as a page that is still under production, respectively.

  • Hi everyone! My name is Anthony and I’m very excited to get into this beta! I am the CEO of Soundgate Studio Inc. ( http://www.facebook.com/soundgatestudio ) and my company began as a recording studio. My social media efforts has done quite well so far (though I don’t consider myself an expert by any means) and now I am looking to do a bit of networking. Maybe learn more about how to turn fans and followers into potential customers. My company is now mainly focused on the creation of a mobile game for iPhone and iPod touch. The game is called Shadowlines ( http://www.shadowlinesgame.com ) The site is still under construction. We have also just finished publishing a comic book for Shadowlines as well. We have showed it to a few comic shop owners, comic fans and comic reviewers and so far everyone is blown away by our quality. I guess because we are an Indy title people just naturally assume it won’t hold the quality of a mainstream comic. If anybody is interested in knowing more about the game or comic please feel free to stay connected with us! @shadowlinesgame @sgsrecording for twitter and http://www.facebook.com/shadowlinesgame for Facebook. We are very new but very passionate about what we do and we are very good at what we do.I am hoping to learn a lot and grow as a business person from this site through personal interaction and by building a professional connection with as many deticated professionals as I can! Thanks all! • Hello from across the water!  I’m from not so sunny England.

I have been working in the Recruitment industry for the last 18 years, and successfully sold my agency in March 2011.  Social Media is what got our business through a very tough recession and I have been using Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn since 2008.  I launched a Social Media company called Green Umbrella in 2009 as a part time hobby.  Since selling the agency, I now can dedicate my time and energy into something I love!  Social Media RoX!

This is a fabulous idea.  I have been a fan os Social Media Examiner for a long while.  I will watch with interest as it develops.

    See you online!

  • Hello all,

I’m Kathy and have a web design business, Stellar Media Design.  Social Media marketing is a natural (and necessary) add-on for my clients.  I have also done some pro-bono work for some local non-profits and have personally seen the power of Facebook marketing.  I’m very eager to learn more!

  • Hi everyone!  I seems like I am home….I am an entrepreneur that feels like I have been starting companies since I was in grade school.  Actually did start several small businesses in the neighborhood as a kid growing up.  Recently I have built and sold 3 companies in the marketing and technology spaces.

Currently, I am a co-founder and CEO of Social Stage LLC. We created a Facebook Page platform that utilizes app solutions to create websites inside your Facebook Page.  We have created a whitelabel program so its our platform + your brand.  Our apps take the development out of the equation for you.  Its quick and easy to build very robust websites in your client’s FB Pages.

We have been in beta for the past 6 months and launching at the end of January with our platform and a big app solution for the TV show Glee.

Look forward to connecting with you all.

  • Hello everyone.  I am a business coach and serial entrepreneur.  I joined Facebook a bit over 2 years or so ago.  I started out just looking at, then began to post responses.  As you can see I just did not jump in.  I use a lot more now but look to learn more about best use.  I do some personal use, more business use, am selective in who I friend as I feel it is not a numbers game.  I have opened and co-manage three other FB pages for non-profit groups to help them get more exposure.

since I also am a business coach, I try to stay ahead of where my small business clients are as well as arrange for 2-3 social media/marketing workshops per year for them.

    Happy New Year!

  • Hi everyone! Amy, from Michigan. I’m here to learn, and grow and not be afraid nor frustrated by the continual rapid-changing-environment of social media.

I’ve spent the last 8 months working in all capacities for Georgia McCabe, a social media strategist, and I find myself involved in copywriting, blogging, project management and app implementation in a whole host of social networks. While I enjoy it tremendously, I feel I’m barely scratching the surface of the potential – wonder how many others feel similar?

Anyway, looking forward to sharing and meeting others.

  • Hello all, I have been an entrepreneur since I was 13 years old. In the last 5 years I have watched as social media became mainstream and am excited to see how much it has been integrated into the lives of many people. Clearly we are all now aware of the huge paradigm shift that has been happening since the new  millennium.

I stay very much plugged in to all the news and changes happening in the social media realm and look forward to passing it all on to everyone in these new clubs. I look forward to getting to know most of you!

    In Unfolding Perfection,

    ~Andrew J Pisher

  • Hi everyone!

I’ve been working as a social media manager, internet promoter and virtual assistant for the past 4 years through my business, Scully Love Promo.  I use Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn and Wordpress (among other sites) to help my clients, who are primarily musicians, authors & artists, to create and manage their social media marketing campaigns.  I also offer proofreading & editing services, host workshops on social media in Kingston, Ontario, and write articles & reviews for several online publications including my own blog.

I’m here to continue to learn about how to effectively use Facebook for marketing purposes and in particular want to learn more about Facebook ads and sponsored stories and how to create customized iFrame tabs.

I look forward to learning and sharing with you when I have the time to check in here.  I do keep pretty busy but I think the Social Media Examiner is the best social media information site on the Internet and I’m very pleased to be a part of this group!

    All my best,
    Christine Bode

P.S.  I just wanted to add that wouldn’t it make more sense to have the most recent posts in these groups show up first and the older ones last?  Otherwise one has to click through a LOT of pages to see the latest posts.

  • Hi, everyone!
I’m Lisa Pietsch (pronounced “peach”) and I’m “multi-passionate” as some would say.

I’ve written some novels that have been published but, while I was working on my social media strategy as a novelist I realized how much I love social media marketing and strategy.  In fact, I love it more than my writing so I became a social media consultant for authors and small press publishers.

Recently, I decided to follow another dream of mine and start a lifestyle magazine that focuses on Health, Fitness, Adventure, Sports, Hunting and Fishing.  SAXtreme Magazine is non-profit and we don’t sell ads – we give them to local charities.  I hope you’ll stop by and “Like” our Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/saxtreme.

    Thanks for reading!

  • Hi All,

Golfer, wife, dog-lover, and certified social media specialist.  In July of 2011 I launched my consulting business Time2Mrkt.  My goal is to help the small business and not-for-profit agencies that can’t afford full-time marketing people begin using or expand their reach with digital media.  I am in the NW suburbs of Chicago.  One of my specialties is teaching LinkedIn to users in hands-on labs or one-on-one.

In April, I will be teaching a social media certificate course for a local community college geared to the small business entrepreneur.

  • What an amazing group of talented people!

My name is Phil Lauterjung, but you can call me Phil…most people don’t get the last name right anyway. I live in Mission Viejo, CA with my wife and best friend for over 30 years. We have 4 grown children and 7 1/2 (the 1/2 will be here in May) grandchildren. Plus I’m the oldest of six siblings, so our family gatherings tend to be large and lots of fun!

For the past few years, after 25+ years in corporate sales & marketing leadership positions, I have owned Integrated LeadGen Results (ILG Results). I chose that name because everyone wants great leads that produce results (sales revenue), but most leave out the “integrated” part of their marketing. I provide that as a Duct Tape Marketing Consultant. Our network of marketing consultants is spread around the world and covers every type of business you could think of, so no matter what business someone might be in we have a consultant with experience.

You can find me using Social Media a lot. I was a graduate of Mike’s first Social Media Success Summit a couple of years ago and recommend it highly to anyone wanting to learn about it in depth.

Here are a few links and I invite you to connect with me – and I will follow you back:

    Twitter: Phil_Lauterjung

I believe firmly in being a life-long learner and I look forward to learning from all of you. See you in the forums!

  • Hi Group!

I think these groups will offer a lot of support and information and am excited to learn from everyone.

I’ve been doing events for 8 years at our company and am looking to learn more about how to maximize our participation on Social Media.  While I’m usually a “lurker” on forums, I sometimes ask questions or respond to questions/topics.

On the side I do volunteer work for some of my hobbies as I like to give back to the community.  If I can offer them some assistance while doing research for my job…BONUS!

    I’ll be seeing you online!

  • Hello everybody,

I am Karen Naide, and I run my own social media management business called Project Social.  I help small businesses set up their social media properties and optimize them, and then I help manage their accounts on a day-to-day business.  I absolutely love what I do!  I also help companies to set up WordPress blogs, which is a lot of fun too.

In the end of January, I’ll be working with my friend Jamie Turner to launch the 60 Second University… we’ll be offering a class for people who are too busy to learn about social media but know they need it for their businesses.  The class is called “15 Days to Social Media Success.”  I’ll post more info on this once we launch!

  • Hi everyone!  I started a social media company earlier this year called Social Media Smartie. My specialty is in the design aspects of social media and blogs.  Custom designs for Facebook, Twitter and Wordpress mostly. May expand into social media management next year, but for now am content with the design aspects.

My goal for 2012 is to connect more with people via networking.  I’m a bit introverted, so I thought starting in groups like this new one, would be a step in the right direction.  My facebook page is facebook.com/SocialMediaSmartie

I’d offer up my website, but I’m currently working on rebranding it so there is an under construction page up now.  I am so looking forward to sharing, learning and growing with you all!

  • Hi everyone! I sound like many of you! I’ve been in marketing my whole career. Mostly in Marketing Communications so I got to manage websites, tradeshows, budgets, advertising, etc. Got my MBA with a Marketing Minor back a few years ago. Spent a couple of decades in the corporate world but always had the yearning and energy to be an entrepreneur and, you know how it goes. started picking up clients ‘on the side’.

Well in 2000 I began my marketing business focused on web design. Of course, that led, 2 years ago into social media.

Social Media Examiner and Mari Smith became my two favorite resources!

Leave it to Mike to come up with this great idea!

  • Hi!

I LOVE social media, technology, and love to learn more about it every minute of the day!

I am an small business owner who consults with businesses who are between five and 50 employees, but don’t yet have the revenue to support a full-time Human Resources Manager on staff.  I come into the business, audit files, processes, procedures, provide feedback, assist in or write employee manuals (handbooks), as well as assist in compensation (job description and salary range) planning for ADA/EEOC purposes, as well as help build compensation plans (salaries, job descriptions, etc.).

Another thing I do – because of my 22+ years in Human Resources and Recruiting, I have a in-depth SME knowledge of resume writing to get jobs or change careers.  I have specific knowledge about 21st century recruiting methods that will get job seekers ‘ahead of the crowd’ when it comes to getting seen by recruiters and headhunters.  I search engine optimize the resumes to get to the top of queue from searches in resume databases or on the Internet.

The third thing I do – I create and establish Social Media packages for customers who are not technology savvy to do it themselves, or need the social media networking capabilities for career changes, job search, or business development.  I have a package that power-builds an initial set of rich social media for customers, and they can take it from there, or they can use me to assist in managing their social media networking on a one-time, weekly, or retainer (monthly to annual) basis.
