Increasing Fan Likes (14 posts)

  • Hi,
I am just wondering if it is possible to put the facebook “like box” in a note on facebook?
What I am wanting to do is send out a note from my business page that will increase the amount of fan likes. I want to start with 2 photography companies in a list, then in order for other photography companies to get on the list they would have to like the prior pages and share the note in order to have their company added to the list. I want to set up a like box next to each company so that you wouldnt have to visit each link to like the page. You could just go down the list and like them quickly in order to get your company added.
I hope that this made sense and please let me know if you can help at all….

  • @sashah89 I’m not exactly sure what you mean, but I’m sure that Facebook won’t let you use sharing the note and liking other pages as a “payment” for adding the company to the list. So I don’t recommend doing it this way. I think (but I’m not sure), that adding a like box the the note isn’t possible anyway.

  • @sashah89 Agree with @milan-steskal on facebook not allowing you to share the note and liking pages as a payment for adding companies to list. Also, for like box in note, i have tried it and there is no such way. I played with fbml (facebook markup language) but it didn’t work in note’s box. Let’s see if any other member has something different to say in this regard.

  • Hi guys!

Thanks so much, however I got the idea because I have already been apart of one before. I just can’t figure out to start it on my own…maybe a note is the wrong method?
It really doesnt have to do with Facebook “payment.” I think I used the wrong wording. It was kinda of like a chain letter, only it popped up in my news feed about other companies liking the pages. By the time I got to join the list it was already so long, so I didnt get as many likes as the first few companies. For this one in particular you did have to visit each link to like the page (no like box was offered, I just know that it would save time haha).
So again, it was a list that started with about 3 companies. In order to add my company name to the list, I had to like the companies in the list above me. Then my company name got added to it and in order for other companies to have their names added they would have to like the companies before them. The list keeps growing and with every new company you get another like. It ends up getting those first few ppl 1000′s of likes.

I really hope I came across more clear this time and that it made a little more sense.

  • Hmm @sashah89 sounds like a Like chain letter – just as you described!  I’ve never seen that before.  I wonder if it was a type of App??  But you said it was in your News Feed?  Did the story in the news feed have a link to the App?  That’s what it sounds like to me is an App with a reveal tab and then when you reveal what’s underneath maybe there was a Facebook Comment plugin where you could add your name?

But then you had to Like them first to be able to add your name.  Very strange – I’ve never seen that and I can’t even think how you would program that!

  • hmmm ya that could be possible, I didnt pay much attention at the time cuz I just wanted to get on the list. Now that I want to start it, I cant remember. Do you think that I could create it using an App with a reveal tab?

I can’t remember if I added my own name or if someone added it for me, but I think I added my own name, so perhaps it was an App…

I just hoped that someone on here might have seen it before or been a part of something like it…maybe it changed when facebook went to timeline? Is that possible?

Is there anything similar to this that I could do to increase the number of likes on my business page?

  • @sashah89 One important question. Do you want/need to get likes to your business page just to feel better when you see the bigger number? Getting likes from users/business pages, who aren’t interested and do it just to get anything in return doesn’t realy make sense and it’s a waste of time. I’d focus on ways of getting quality likes, not the quantity. Check this article on AllFacebook, there has just been a study regarding quantity vs quality - http://allfacebook.com/napkin-labs-superfans-study_b102500

  • incresing your fan page may look good in a way. Nowadays people want to get more fans. Sometimes numbers can show how many people visited your page, or shown interest. So I think it is a good thing as everbody is doing it at the moment. Regarding Quality, yes, if you want to make money, this is something we need to look into seriously. Having a fan page can be different than having paying customers as fans. Not all the businesses are lucky enough to get paying customers via FB or Twitter. So it is always good trying all the avenues. There is always an opportunity to try every single avenue. You never know.We are living in a very competivie world. However bear in mind that we always need to realistic about our goals and the way achieving them. Not sure aybody aware but FB starting charging fan pages in US. I think is £7 per month or similar. It was publsihed on Fianacial Post on the 30122012. It has alredy been confirmed by one of the US base business owner.

  • And also there are a few companies who helps likes eitherby payment or free.If interested my page is http://www.facebook.com/remedy4people. No I am not one of those companies. I am Birmingham based Holistic Therapist.

  • Sorry Sasha I did not read your fisrt comment. Yes, that tis what meant.

  • Your best bet is to use a lead capture page that goes straight to your Fan Page.

  • Thanks Milan, however its not the amount of likes that really matters to me. The more likes you have on your business page the more ppl that have the possiblity of viewing your page. If Nur Ray had gone and liked my fb business page, then ppl on his newfeed and in his friends list have the chance of seeing that he now likes my page and could therefore visit it out of interest. It’s more of a way to have more ppl view my page than anything. Get my name out there.

Kenneth, what is a lead capture page and how can I go about using one??

  • @sashah89  Well said Sasha!  My sentiments exactly!

  • @kenneth Golden what is a lead capture page and how can I go about using one?
