Ideas for ways for a CPA to take his page (4 posts)

  • I am a CPA new to Facebook & struggling on which direction to take my page. I have a website with a newsletter & all the professional accounting & tax stuff going on but in my opinion the easiest way to NOT get likes & interaction is to talk a bunch of tax or accounting law. I’ve tried some cartoons etc. looking for some opinions. Thanks!

  • @david-c-jones-cpa Hi David, you should check out Earthegy’s site (a SME nominee). While she has gorgeous jewelry, she also posts about her chickens (too cute!) and fun visual quotes.  http://www.facebook.com/Earthegy

You might also look at Think Geek – very quirky but fun: http://www.facebook.com/thinkgeek

Looked up Accounting Today’s page: http://www.facebook.com/AccountingToday (might have to follow!)

    From a random search:http://www.facebook.com/ALaccountants http://www.facebook.com/accountingcoach http://www.facebook.com/WaveAccounting <<—Good!http://www.facebook.com/universalaccounting

Here are some ideas off the top of my head:*Posts related to numbers (infographics, history)*Posts related to balancing (aka your budget) – mix a playground image with content about matching debits to credits*Find TV shows, movies, entertainment that have even a slight accounting or financial connection (the bacon “crisis” or sequestration come to mind)*Personal but not too revealing posts – chat about coffee if you like it*Fun posts: If you had a $1M what would you do? where would you visit (find a travel site’s Top 10 list to share)

What works for me are pretty pictures, quotes and events. I add a dash of personal on occasion. Still I have a low level of engagement other than likes. My Twitter feed is definitely more lively!

  • @kc_kreative Thank you for all the great sites to check out it definitely gave me some direction. Haven’t got to much into Twitter yet as Facebook has seemed challenging enough but that will be the next piece of the pie I bite into.

  • @david-c-jones-cpa Truth be told I love a good Internet search. Don’t forget to let us know how your content changes worked! Also, you might think about commenting on others’ pages in your field or close interests (banking, small business, etc.). I need to do more of that myself! Best wishes, Kristy
