I need a store-front app for a non-profit on Facebook. Recommendations? (8 posts)

  • Morning everyone,

I need to start a page to promote various items for sale on Facebook.
The seller is an international non-profit organization and all proceeds would go to support their efforts in working with sight-challenged people and disabled children.
Can anyone recommend an app to install such a page on Facebook?
Obviously, it would need to handle a number of different items for sale and have a payment processor.
    Thanks for your suggestions!

  • @warrenveach – I like Payvment just because it was so easy to set up and worked with PayPal which can be an easy way to get the merchant account attached.  It is free and all you pay is the Paypal fees.  That being said, not everyone has PayPal.  You could add the capability of accepting other credit cards but that is $20/month.  But it’s worth it in my opinion.  No merchant account is free.  Hope that helps!

  • Thanks @andrea-vahl ,

I took a quick look at it and will dig into it more soon.

    Anyone else have any suggestions?

  • Further to Andrea’s comments – although PayPal does make it look like it, a person does not have to have a PayPal account to pay with PayPal, provided the seller has a business account. As a merchant, you just need to highlight the option to pay with a credit card (see an example here)

Take care and all the best.Gina

Volution.com.  They have facebook, mobile and a web store plus they work with non-profits.  They also integrate simply with paypal if you so desire.

  • Thanks Gina,

I was wondering about the PayPal option!

    Have a GREAT day,Warren

  • Hi Nicole,

I looked up Voiution, but they appear to be a tech company… did you maybe mean “Volusion“?

  • @warrenveach

I did mean Volusion, my apologies.  I submitted the response via my iPhone and it auto-corrected.
