How & Where on a fan page does one put a link to your blog? (8 posts)

  • See, I told you I was the newbie on the block.  I’m sure my questions will be the comic relief or the “Oh, now, not her again.” questions:)  Thanks for your patience

  • We all started out as “newbies” once, so don’t worry about it! There’s a couple of places you can post your blog url. The best places is to use the little “About” box to do this. If you go to “Edit Page” (button on the upper right of the page that you admin) and then “Basic Information” (on the left navigation). Scroll down on this page and you should see a little text box with “About:” beside it. Enter something like: “Check out my blog” and then add the url of your blog. It’s the only place on the left navigation where you can get that clickable link straight to your blog.I hope that helps. :)

@cassiewitt did a great job at explaining the most visible, permanent spot.  I wanted to add…Don’t forget to promote it on your wall! =)

Another important place you can put your website URL is on your profile image.

Profile images can be 180px X 540px. You should consider this as valuable marketing real-estate. Below is an image with red boxes highlighting where I have my website visible.

I saw that you have pages set up for two locations ( Daly City and Los Altos) Are you managing both of these pages? I ask this because I’m not so sure about dividing up the value of your pages in two locales, especially since they are within the same state.  Anybody else have input on this?

    Best of luck!

  • @barbc I use Networked Blogs to automatically add new posts to my wall.

Yes, the profile picture one of the best spots to put it, even if it’s not clickable, it will make it highly visible (provided the design is good).

As far as using two different pages for two locations, the advantage of that is to be able to offer Facebook deals for each of the two different locations. People will only be able to use the deals if they check into your exact location and then click to redeem the deal. However, you can use Foursquare to award people with check-in deals if you want to combine the Facebook Pages into one. It really just depends on what your goals are for your Facebook Presence.

Thanks for the explanation on the advantages for using multiple facebook pages, hadn’t heard of this before.

    Cheers!
