How to hide newsfeed on page? (5 posts)

  • Hello,

I clicked the hide button on my page but the post still appears on fans wall.

My client wants to do a page ad but do not want to show it on their facebook page. It’s a link with video. Any advice?

    Thanks,

    Nicole

  • Hi.When you, as admin, hide a post, the post will still appear on the wall of the person who wrote it, and it’s friends. For the rest of the fans it wouldn’t be there on the wall. You will find it in the “Hidden posts” section, below your profile pic.If you hide a comment done in a thread, you will see it in a different shade of gray, with an “X” in the upper right corner and still the user that wrote it and his/her friends will see it (and you as admin) but nobody else. Hope it helps.

If you can explain more about the “page ad” –  I really don’t get it. Page ad is a Facebook Ad to promote the page to get “likes” or a sponsored story?

  • Not quite sure I understand about the Page ad either @nicolechan but  @sallymolinaatehorta is right about the Hide button – it will still show up on the wall of the person or page who wrote it and there is nothing you can do about that.

The Ad you can control who you show it to and exclude people who are already your fans so that your current fans won’t see it.  Not sure if that’s what you are trying to do or not.

  • Thanks @sallymolinaatehorta  & @Andrea Vahl.

I’m trying to hide my own post. not somebody’s comment.

Even if i click the hide post button, it still appears in public.

    This is the dummy page:

  • Is not going to work with your own comment.I will go and comment so you can hide it :-)
