How to find a designer for a Facebook app (8 posts)

Topic tags: App, designer, promotion
  • I am trying to build my own Facebook app for an advert to get likes to my page and to sell some running sunglasses ie with a coupon code.

I have been playing around with some apps and I know how to get it to work, the problem is I am a useless designer. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

  • Hello Stephen,

There are a lot of people out there, but what are you using to design your app? Both PageModo and Shortstack can help you with design. I am working on developing tabs for my Credit Union’s page, and have made live an auto loan tab, and a “locate us” tab which I called “Branch24″ as a joke on all of our services that end in 24.

It is a good service that is easy to use. Now, I made these with graphics, but there are templates available as well.

  • Hi Stephen,

What type of “App” are you trying to build? There are many people in this forum that should be able to help you. I think that we need some more details.

  • Yes we need a little more info, @stephenfowler because you can build a Facebook App that does all kinds of things or you can be talking about building a custom tab with an App and in that case, these apps can work:  http://www.socialmediaexaminer.com/top-10-facebook-apps-for-building-custom-pages-tabs/  But if you want someone to just design the custom tab, then there are people in the Clubs who can help.

  • @stephenfowler  I built my Apps with no programming or design skills.  I used Lajure and ShortStack and it was very easy.  Both Lajure and ShortStack provided the design, I just had to populate the templates.  You can see them at facebook.com/windmillcycles.  I will help you for free if this is what you’re looking for.  If you want something more professional looking, I’m sure there are many competent designer/developers here in the club for hire.

  • I use Lujure. Very simple drag and drop modules. Absolutely no coding required.

  • we have about dozen professional apps  - all for free, you are welcome to try it we will be happy to assist if needed Facebook apps

  • Honestly, I’d stay away from any “free building” tools that require “no coding.” They’re ok to a point and to get started, but at some point you need to hire a professional to do it. It definitely gives more credibility. Many of the tools out there look homemade and unprofessional.

I’d be happy to take a look at the specs of what you want to do.
