How to add own location in fb places, so that you can locate urself there? (8 posts)

Topic tags: facebook location
  • We come across fb places many times during a day, we mostly use/tag location or places that come in suggestion list, (for example Mr President can post his status like “I am at White House, Washington DC !!!”). But anyone knows how to add our own location or place in the fb’s location database so that we can mention it in our status update. For example i want to update my status when i visit a traditional indian hotel in an indian city. so how to add that particular hotel name  in the list. (that hotel owner is not fond of internet or fb and hence doesn’t know what the fb addiction is!)

  • @moinshaikh  Does this help?http://www.facebook.com/help/?faq=175921872462772

  • @juleswebb, thanks but i forgot to mention that i wanted to do this via my laptop/pc not via iPhone

  •  @juleswebb i think there is no such option, after digging fb help guide, i found everywhere that you can do this only via phone device only.

  • @moinshaikh  – I’m pretty sure that’s because facebook is using the GPS in the “smart phones” to help pinpoint locations.

This is an assumption on my part, not something I read.

  • @juleswebb, right mate, your sense may be right

  • @moinshaikh You might be able to create the page with your business page address information and check in that way. I was able to do that through the standard webpage. There are issues with there being a duplicate “place” of our business based on employment information. I have not been able to find a remedy for that. Once I was able to check-in through the computer at our office using the business address it logs there being a check-in there so it may do the same for the iPhone. Hope that helps!

  • @alexandrabriggs thanks alexandra, it is little working :)
