How Much Do You Charge to Build custom fan pages? (13 posts)

Topic tags: Facebook
  • Lots of our users obviously use our product to build pages for businesses. But I get asked alot what they should attempt to charge. And I have no clue what they should be telling them. We do our own custom work here and there, but it isn’t our main focus at all so we charge a very premium price as it’s more of a service than something we do to pay the bills.

So what is the going rate that you charge a client to build them a page/app/tab (whatever you call it!)? and what does that include? (graphics, management and etc)

  • We are all inclusive, so for 99$ a month you get an unlimited number of custom FB applications/ tabs/ pages, 24/7 monitoring 365, and our custom promotions with prize, and anything else social media related!

  • @ashleyhyde, this is quite a low rate for all the services you offer. how do you ensure that the content you provide relates to the page’s service or product and is not just a general game/post/app that could be applied to anyone? I would assume that postings ‘personalized’ to the pages aim would require more effort and be more expensive. Or do I misunderstand something?

  • @Claudia your almost there! When we start with a brand new page for at least 6 months we run very generic contests that are designed to just get your fans listening, interested and start sharing your content with their friends and family. The general contests can be tailored to your genre of business. Of course if you have something you want us to tell your community we will but not if it is salesy we will not post about your daily specials or your 50% off today, If you just printed all new menus or are having an anniversary party now that is something we should tell your community about!  As for the price it will start to go up but only after we have done a great job for you, lets say you start at 99$ and had 1,000 followers and we run our promotions for 8 months and now your at 10,000 followers the price goes up to 149$ because there is so much engagement and we have to monitor and respond much more closely, the idea is when more people are positively talking or spreading word of mouth through Facebook about your business you will have more happy customers who come back more often putting more $$ in your pocket. If you go to our website http://www.crowdsmartmedia.com/comtests/ you can see the different contests and truly can understand how the tailoring process works. By just changing words in our ‘Word Jumble’ we can make it industry specific or changing the pictures in our ‘Caption Contest’. Some of the contests are already designed for specific businesses for example ‘ Midnight Snack Artist’ will not work for your business if you don’t serve food. So Claudia you see we have already thought of everything for you! I hope this explains exactly what it is that we do and why we charge so little, if you want to see some examples of how successful we have been privately message me and i’ll be more than happy to show you!

  • @ashleyhyde, I just visited your site.  You do a great job for your clients, and are a terrific value.  How can you create all the POP and do the social media for just $99 a month?  Seems like you are leaving money on the table.

  • @Chrissa thank you so much for your compliments, we do almost everything in house to keep costs down including the 24 hour monitoring. Every page has a real person behind it every hour of the day and all of our real people have extensive customer service backgrounds so that the response is always appropriate. Our goal with our pricing was to have a program even the smallest business could afford.  There are so many companies out there today claiming to be new media experts, and we have heard many horror stories from business owners we just wanted to be different. With social media being as transparent as it is we believe the work speaks for it’s self!

  • @chrissamichelle the secret is volume!

  • Interesting input and angle you guys are taking Ashley. I was really looking for advise on what someone is charging just to design and install a single app (tab/page whatever you’re calling it) on a Facebook page. Prices seem all over the board.

  • @scottayres I’m charging $100 for creating a social media asset, whether G+, LinkedIn or Facebook. My take on it is … Your social media is a part of your SEO for your website. So I want to push everything back to you website whenever possible.

I build an optimized profile, so that your profile will be seen when someone “Googles” you. The keywords for a social profile may not be the same keywords as your site uses. So, I always do some keyword research for each social profile. I re-write/write a unique introduction/about area for your new social media asset, incorporating the information from your website, but not copying it. I put your contact information liberally through the introduction/about area and include some links back to your site in the appropriate places if possible.

After reading everything I do … I should raise my rates. lol

  • @ashleyhyde Ashley, do you work with other marketing companies who want to utilize your service for their clients? I’d love to add this little targeted arrow to my quiver for clients. Do yall do that? Or how could we do that… offer your service to our clients without losing our client? Just asking…

  • @atlantarobin Hi Robin,

We allow many firms to white label our services, and we’d be happy to speak with you as well.  You’d need to send an email to info@crowdsmartmedia.com in order to receive our reseller agreements, and go over what it is we can do for you!  We look forward to hearing from you soon!

    -Ashley

  • I apologize that it has taken so long for me to get back to you, I was out of town and touch for a few days doing a top secret guerrilla marketing campaign for one of our nation wide clients.
