How do you use Facebook for business? (13 posts)

  • I’ve never figured out how to use Facebook to generate business or make sales? How you use it for your business?

  • we show  them  great stuff and  they  come and  buy it….. they have to get in their  car and   drive  to us   tho……  and on a more  long term  view,    keep  them interested in  us   so when  they need us   we will come to mind…thats how   stores and resturants  try and  make  facebook work….

does it work for  social media   businesses? which ones?    maybe  find one that makes   a lot of money on  facebook  and follow how they do it….

  • Different businesses use Facebook in different ways, and people also follow brand pages for a variety of reasons. However, most people admit to following brands in order to receive special offers that are only available to members of their Facebook communities. The fact is, when you have 1100 people who Like your brand, that’s 1100 potential customers.
Use your Facebook page to make them feel good about the brand as well as your products or services. This way you’re cultivating a community of advocates who will feel so good about your brand, they won’t only buy from you, but they’ll act as advocates and provide good word of mouth marketing.

  • We have developed a way for Business Owners to get more out of offering free wifi for their customers.   It is tied in with Facebook.   In order for customers to log into the free wifi,  they are required to “like” the facebook business page.  When they do, they receive an offer for doing so, and consequently ,  the business owner can repeatedly market them.   http://www.roundtablemarketingllc.com/#!solutions/c20x9

  • @kathybernard

Establishing an online presence and bringing together all of your marketing collateral so people can find and believe in your brand is key.

Facebook is one part of many online channels to do this, and a big one – hence this category.

People are in touch with FB so much now that simply not having a business page could turn someone away or be a ‘loss’ in business as a start.

Creating a Facebook page which is clean, simple and performs isn’t too hard and can do a few things for your business including:

Provide quick information on your business and locate you.Link you up with other related brands/businesses.Establish a following/interest in your brand/products/service and generate data on how your audience is interacting with your page.Allow you to experiment with ideas like comps, promo’s, and ask your audience’s opinion about you/your brand. And allows you to do things like invite people to things, message your audience directly, and follow important trends etc.

That’s a few anyways. Then there’s FB marketing/advertisements which is a whole nother thing.

Just make a page and experiment I say. No biggy.

  • I feel like Facebook works really well to build a community @kathybernard but sometimes translating that into direct sales is hard.  I like making sure you get your Facebook fans onto your e-mail list and I think e-mail marketing is more powerful than Facebook for converting to sales.  But they may have come from a Facebook connection first.  Facebook is a great place to share things and connect with new people, but I feel like e-mail is where the real marketing occurs.

  • We have a facebook page, and we have done everything that we can think of: free promotions, posting once a day, putting new products up, asking questions to initiate conversation, etc. But for some reason we are having a hard time getting people to our page. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how we can get more people directed towards it and possibly sell through our facebook page?

    Thanks!

  • @sigemb I visited your page, and I think you need more pictures and post with more interesting info. A lot of your post are like: ‘Have a good weekend!’ ‘Enjoy your week everyone!’ ‘Happy March’… they’re… boring. Looking at your products, I think your business can be a lot more fun! Post better pictures of your products (no more with with white backgrounds), and just post information that may interest your clients.I sell products I import from Japan, so I sometimes post cool pictures of japanese culture, products or stores. good luck!

  • @Jeanette Peterson - here’s “your baby’s ugly” recap of your page. First to put things in perspective we have more than 16,000 fans and only average 3 orders a day from FB.
    I’d post 2 -3 times a day

Your posts are boring AND all you show is product. If you want fans to bounce post product pics. There are no people on your page. I would some how find a way to get “action” images of people wearing your product ie not a team photo but the hat coming off while fielding a ground ball.

Ask questions and post links to your site. We’re also having some sucess with sweepstakes – daily give aways.
    some examples to look at

    hope that helps

  • Great ideas, everybody. Thanks!

  • This helps a lot! Thanks for being honest everyone!

  • I really appreciate everyone’s input.  Thank you!

  • I built my Facebook Page with my blog/website urls and photos of what I offer for sale (mostly artwork and handmade things from Etsy). Usually, I post new photos there every few days.  My latest is a fine art greeting card for Easter that is very intricate, with a bunny popping out of a large Faberge-like egg.  So I try to be seasonal, but I still do not have many followers b/c I’m not really asking for more “likes” all that aggressively.

If you’d like to connect on FB find me under “Christine Corretti.”   thanks
