How do I follow my prospects with a Facebook Page? (9 posts)

Topic tags: engagement, likes
  • I have a few questions that will help me understand how to find and interact the prospects of my massage and wellness page http://www.facebook.com/massagezone

    1) I have created interest lists which are linked to my personal profile. I found that I can’t comment in those interest lists as my page. I can only comment as my profile. This doesn’t help me make my page visible.

    2) I have read debates that a LIKE from personal gives more weight than a LIKE from my page. So I was liking from my personal profile and introduced them to my page and asked them to like. By doing this, I found out that in the news feed of my page are no news. It came to my understanding that if I want to have posts from pages I’m interested in, I have to like those pages from my page and not a personal profile.

This is what I came up in my first steps journey with facebook pages. Can anyone confirm or neglect where I’m right and where I’m right in the written above?

    Thanks

  • @slamy I believe your primary question is regarding the visibility on news feeds? Posts appearing are contingent upon whether you are “Acting as” yourself/personal or as the page administrator. The news feed changes based on the likes from each.

If your prospects are individuals you can’t post to them directly from your page. You are able to interact as the page if they post to you and you are responding but that is the extent. Tags and comments on personal pages must come from personal accounts

  • Basically, if I’m interested to see someones posts in my page news feed, I need to like it from my page. This way I can interact with them by commenting on their posts.

If this is right, I can see a difference now.

    Thanks Alexandra:)

  • Yes, I usually recommend people Like the pages they are interested in doing business with from their Page (and they can also like them from the personal profile which does count towards the Like total and a Page Like doesn’t).  But then you can have your own Page News Feed and make sure you never miss a post from a Page you are interested in.  Then you can easily comment on that post as your Page as  @alexandrabriggs said.

  • Thanks @Andrea Vahl.

I’m already implementing this strategy on my page http://www.facebook.com/massagezone. It is much easier to follow people your are interested in doing business. In the same time I can follow them and learn what they do.

  • However, it’s a pretty hard work following your prospects by being active on their pages in hope they will return the favor to you. It is hard to make them visit your page and act there somehow.

At some point I could contact and ask them to like my page?

  • Ion, another option for you is to join in the like exchange from the club. Here is the link, and everyone is awesome about following throughhttp://www.socialmediaexaminer.com/clubs/facebook/forum/topic/like-exchange/

  • @slamy I support your argument
