Facebook Admin Question (4 posts)

Topic tags: facebook admin, pages
  • So yesterday I converted a personal profile to a Facebook page and added myself as admin. Her is the new page  http://www.facebook.com/pages/Chris-Maughan/172338102868617

    I followed the following steps.

    1) Logged into the personal profile with the owners email address and password. Let’s use original@gmail.com for this example.2) Downloaded personal information3) Went thru the conversion process and you can see the result in the link above4) I added myself as administrator

It is working perfectly for me. I have the new page under Pages in my personal profile and I can access it as an administrator.

However, when the owner logs in with original@gmail.com he goes to the ‘ads and pages’ tab and he is not able to get onto the actual page as I am when I go there from my personal profile.

Do I need to add another of his personal profiles as admin in order for him to have his new Facebook Page appear under pages in that specific personal profile.

Should I delete original@gmail.com as administrator?

    Kind regards,

    Jorgen

  • i have also converted a profile to page but then i add an admin and it worked well for me, so your though of adding another admin might be making sense. But dont delete original id in case we need to recover from any fatal issue later on. I am trying to sort out the thing at my end, but till the time, try adding another admin, i am sure it will work!

  • I haven’t converted a profile over @jorgenpoulsen so I think what  @moinshaikh advises is the right course.  I would keep the original e-mail and just add other admins to actually use the account.

  • @moinshaikh @andrea-vahl. This is the second time it has looked fishy after conversion for original@gmail.com.

It seems that adding an additional admin does solve the problem but that of course requires original@gmail.com to have another personal profile if he wants to manage the FB Page from the pages tab in the personal profile.

    Jorgen
